MN: We'll need more orange ice cream; Richard just took a really large scoop of it...
Nora: Almost out of truffles. They're a real eyeful.
Storyteller: I'd say our setups have been a hit...but I think someone almost got their finger chopped off by the guillotine.
Nora: My, my. Maybe we should...
Ouch! Get better soon, Kathy!
Here, have some virtual ice cream. What flavor would you like? In honor of it being the 31st, we've got orange, pumpkin and Transylvania Twist.
MN (dressed as Sherlock Holmes): All right, the treats are all laid out...
Nora (dressed as a mad scientist): The props are up...
Storyteller (dressed as the Wizard): And we're in costume and the residents are all out for prowling.
MN: Let's do this. Guillotine, start chopping. Hound of the...
Not to mention chronic headaches and a permanent dent in his skull. I mean, crashing your head into the piano like that can't be too good for you, can it?
I've got ten million school projects to work on and I have to register for next semester's classes, so quilt's on hold until the weekend...
In room 7, the occupants are in the kitchen burning the midnight oil.
MN: And not the cupcakes...how are those coming, Storyteller?
Storyteller: (checks oven) Five more minutes and they'll be done. How's the ice cream?
MN: The orange is in the freezer, the pumpkin is being churned and I'm...
I think Scooter fainted during the Tony Randall episode of TMS, after TR tried all sorts of magic spells to change Miss Piggy back to normal (but ended up changing Scooter into all sorts of things).
Boober did a lot of fainting in "Boober's Quiet Day."
Yeah, what we've got looks really swell. Mom, being the one who's good with the needle and thread, keeps "basking in the white heat of my own wonderfulness." And every time she says that, I say, "Ow, you're giving me sunburn!"
Besides, if I never got any proper sewing lessons as a kid, I'm sure...
MN: Halloween's nearly here...that day I won't be trick-or-treating, but I will be doing something equally ghoulish...registering for next semester's classes.
Nora: How is that ghoulish?
MN: Ever try using the school's computer network to register, right at the same time that several hundred...
Same here.
Update on the quilt: Statler's done, Sweetums is mostly done, Scooter and Janice are works in progress, and Beaker is still in the design stage. The name, date and epitaph panels are partially attached, so it's coming along.
Now that you mention it, we could use a few recipes for finger foods. And that Transylvania Twist sounds frightfully good. But they're out of pecans down at the open-air market; we'll have to make do with walnuts.
Nora: Uh, Erin, when you said finger foods...
MN: No, we're not putting actual...
Storyteller: I've decided that I'm going as the Wizard. Does anyone need their costumes mended?
MN: No, mine's good.
Nora: I've got a little rip in my lab coat.
Storyteller: Oooh. Well, hand it here and I'll have it fixed before you can say Fedora Fraggle.
MN: Good. Let's see, the decorating's...
(comes in, popping a few bubbles with her finger as she goes)
Glad to hear your mum's doing well, Marty.
Like I said, it'd be nice if Sesame Street in the U.S. did something about AIDS. After all, that's how they lost one of their best and brightest.
Oh, quilt update: This weekend, we're...
Nora: You mean Richard's ghost has come back to visit?
MN: Yeah, come on, do you think he's going to let a little thing like being dead stop him from making people laugh?
Storyteller: For him, it's just a minor setback. Pass me the green thread, please.
MN: (throws thread to Storyteller) Didja...
Nora: How's the quilt coming?
MN: Fine. Statler's on it and we're getting ready to put on Sweetums.
Storyteller: He'll take a while...pass me that needle and black thread. How are those templates of Scooter and Janice coming along?
MN: They're coming. I just need to trace them over on the...
I know. I think it'd be really nice if they let Kami appear on Sesame Street in the U.S...but those uber-uptight "values" groups keep making noise about it.
Oh, they know who Richard was; he and three of his Muppets are mentioned by name in the "Quilt Facts" section on the site. I guess they just want the letter so they can know a bit of the story behind the panel.
I've never heard of the quilt people turning a panel away, though.
Most quilt...
Yeah, we'll mail it to the quilt people (we'd like to have it mailed by Dec. 1), and they'll eventually archive it and add it to a quilt block. Don't know when they'll do it, though. They used to notify panel donors when their panel got added to the quilt, but stopped it when it became too...
Not really; it's been fairly simple up until now. Most difficult part was painting the name panels, and I'm pretty good at that.
We're starting in on the Muppets themselves. NOW it gets tricky.
