Beige: (looking at ladyfingers) Man, those women must have had edema or something.
Nora: (on phone) Hi, Ed, we got the order forms. You guys will get the cookies soon. (hangs up) In France, those cookies are called langues de chat - cat's tongues.
Storyteller: (chuckle) So instead of the cat having your tongue, you've got its tongue.
Erin: (dunking a Mint Dream in a glass of milk) Go figure. (to Scooter) Okay, so now we've got to visit Neptune. Walk up the beach, and there'll be a mermaid sitting on the rock...
Storyteller: Are you still playing that game?
Scooter: (munching on an Orange Delight while clicking mouse) No, we finished King's Quest I last night. This is King's Quest II.
Erin: The unofficial remake, with voices, new graphics, and subplots 'til Tuesday.

*On phone: Thanks Nora. *Remembers days of playing/watching brothers play Space Quest and King's Quest 2. Okay, I know where you are plotwise... But where the heck was that mermaid supposed to be found? You swam out three squares, nothing, the fourth square still nothing and you drowned and had to start over from your save point.

Kelly (looks at box of Lady Fingers, scratching head): Uh ... thanks, Count. *opens* Oh, they ARE cookies. *glances at Chamberlain* You like?

Kelly (to Chamberlain): I'm too much of a carnivore to do the cookie thing. OD'd once at Halloween on M&M's ... haven't touched sweets or pastries since.

Sure is nice that there are some hearts warming up on this cold rainy night. It's the kind of stuff that reminds me of why we started the dorms in the first place. Makes me nostalgically smile. Now if only I hads me...
*A pair of pointy ears raise from the couch in the middle of our room, ravishing red hair allowed to flood downwards. *The female fiend waggles her gloved fingers to join her on the loveseats.

*Thinking to self, well, how can I resist?

WhiteRabbit said:
Ailie: *cuddles, not offended* Why try to dodge around each other? I know that I really like you. ^_^

Back at the lair?

Chamberlain: Well, if you feed them enough, they make for a decent lunch at least. XP Tastes like...not chicken.
Spike (drapes a thick arm around Ailie): Back home, I'm known as da Connoisseur of Fine Females. *smiles* I only go for da quality merchandise. *chuckles* ... which seems ta be in greater supply 'round here dan I t'ought, initially. If ya like music, I got some records, some 8-tracks, and Kel's computer can access all kinds o' t'ings. Just move ta whatever groove ya like.

Meanwhile...

Kelly (quickly glances at watch and sighs, rolling her eyes, then glances at Chamberlain): Haha ... you might have to make me some some time. I wonder if they might go well with any kind of sauce .... *thinks of podpeople rotisserrie (sp?)* MMMMM....

Hi, Ed - yeah, my brother and I have been KQ fans for years. On the first four games, the older ones where you had to type in the commands, we'd team-play: my brother would move Graham (or Alexander or Rosella) around, and I'd type in the commands. With KQ5 onward, we'd just take turns playing.

The mermaid is sitting on a rock just off the beach in both versions - a few years ago, a group of loyal fans redid and updated KQ2 - better graphics, voices and a brand-new subplot involving an assassination attempt and political intrigue. Good stuff.
