That sounds like a very interesting one. I also remember a skit where Oscar lost Slimey; Grover tries to give Oscar a new pet. First Grover tries to be a pet himself by dressing up like different animals. Then he decides to catch a pet fish for Oscar. So, he comes by with a fishing pole and...
My favorite human was David. For many years, he provided a lot of energetic comedy, great singing, and the message that you could be cool and hip without being mean to others who aren't. Even when the late actor (Northern Calloway) became sick and overweight, he kept the character going as...
Well, not exactly. Be careful not to confuse Curly-Joe with Joe Besser either. Joe Besser came right after Shemp. Besser was the one who didn't want to be hit and had a style of comedy that seemed to throw their timing off. Curly-Joe (Joe DeRita), on the other hand, just seemed to be bland...
Without a doubt, the most unfriendly one has to be ThreeStooges.net discussion board. I'm a big Stooge fan, but these folks give it a bad name. It's run by a psychotic anarchist and a bunch of members who are frightened to offend him for fear of being deleted. The upside to the site? You can...
Sesame Street 2 actually had a very interesting album cover and song book. Everything is illustrated with drawings. The front has drawings of the more obscure muppets like Betty Lou, Prof. Hastings, and Herbert Birdsfoot holding up signs of Gordon, Mr. Hooper, and Susan (Bob is not on this...
I love that V skit! That's when Sesame Street really had an edge. Can you see them making or even showing a cartoon about vigilantes defeating vampires these days? Not VERY likely.
Yes, for some reason, every once in a while, they would start with an insert. It definitely happened more than once. One of the New Mexico episodes started that way.
That does ring a vaguely familiar bell. As much as I tend to remember from the old shows, Professor Hastings skits are really pushing it since he went off the show so early on.
There is an audio skit with Professor Hastings and Ernie, singing about the letter U on a Muppet album and this...
Professor Hastings was an early muppet that I knew well as a child and I remember noticing when he stopped appearing on the show. Yet, I can only recall two skits that he was in, the one where he was a contestant on "What's My Part" and a musical segment with the song "Spinning Wheel." I don't...
That was really a very good "lost" skit. From what I remember, Bert tells Ernie to make sure that he puts his favorite vase on the large shelf instead of the small shelf. But, Ernie imagines what would happen if he put it on the small shelf and it broke. We hear Bert's echoed voice in his...
I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that Bert was actually crying in all of those skits. He established a type of trademark sympathy whine that was often used out of total frustration.
However, there was at least one Sesame storybook where Bert cried, called "It's Not Fair."
:(
That was a very good one and I haven't seen it shown in years.
Ernie and Bert sure seem to live a life of leisure. It's the middle of the week and all they have to worry about is whether to go to the zoo or not. LOL
I agree that Toon Zone is the worst of the worst.
This forum is one of the best that I've ever seen and very well run. They do have a few troublemakers on here, but that will be anywhere.
Long live Muppet Central!
