    What's My Part?: Foot (1970)

The first two muppets in the Foot skit were the same as in the Nose skit, a blue monster-like male muppet, and a green monster-like female. The third contestant this time was the very underrated and forgotten Professor Hastings. Prof. Hastings never seemed to completely grasp the fact that he...

    Forgetful Jones's debut?

Forgetful had a completely different voice early on.

    Favorite Bert and Ernie Sketch

I hated to see that classic skit of the alphabet story redone. There really was no reason for it.

The Jazzy Spies/Bert & Ernie transition

It happened another time with a cartoon about a little girl being kissed by a monster and saying "BLECH"!

    Sesame Street Unpaved

They really should issue a second edition of it. It's a great book, but there were a few errors in it and some characters, like Herbert Birdsfoot, were excluded.

2 hands and a piece of chocolate cake

I remember that skit. I kept wondering how the hands were going to eat the cake. :) A similar skit involved two different colored gloved hands counting to eleven. Naturally, they run out of fingers before they're through, so a third hand (red I think) comes in to help. There was...

    Question for GeeBee

That one doesn't ring a bell, but I'll investigate. I watched a lot of Sesame Street in the 80's, but not nearly as much as I did in the 70's.

    Whitman coloring book

It sounds like you're talking about the old Sesame Street booklets with cardboard punch out finger puppet characters from the show. If that's what you're referring too, it actually wasn't a coloring book at all. If I remember right, the punch-outs were actual photographs of the muppets that...

    Favorite Bert and Ernie Sketch

Also, after Bert finished banging his head, he ran straight into the camera, screaming.

    Wolfgang???

No, all I remember is that it was sometime in the 90's.

    Wolfgang???

The only Wolfgang segment that's memorable to me is the one with Telly and The Amazing Mumford. Mumford gave Wolfgang the power to turn anything he touched into fish (You know, a twist of the old story). Wolfgang accidentally touches Telly and Telly becomes a fish. Telly still has the same...

Question: Who exactly is Herbert Birdsfoot?

Poor Herb. He didn't even make the pages of the "Sesame Street Unpaved" book.

Question: Who exactly is Herbert Birdsfoot?

If you want to see a picture of Herbert Birdsfoot, click on the link below. He's the small purplish muppet with glasses, orange nose, and mustache between Fat Blue mailman and Herry Monster. http://members.tripod.com/~hooperfan/Snuffya.jpg

    "Follow That Bird" record album

Today I was lucky enough to have a friend give me a "Follow That Bird" record album. The album cover is pretty cool in itself with a lot of pictures and drawings from the movie, and even a Sesame Street game. Curiously, no pictures or illustrations of the Sesame Street human cast are on the...

    Sesame Street 1971 books

Those are two wonderful books and they have the same artist. I find "The Together Book" particularly interesting in the fact that no muppet's name is ever mentioned throughout the entire book.

A question for Xeurus about Telly and Mr. Hooper

No, I noticed the same thing. Mr. Hooper did very little in that episode and did not seem to have the energy that he did in the past. It is very possible that Will Lee's declining health was limiting his performance.

    The Noggin edits...

I wonder if some edits were for content too. In the Ernie and Bert skit where Ernie recites his numbers and keeps starting over, the final part where Bert bangs his head against the table was cut out. (Presumably because they feared kids would copy it). It wasn't that much time lost, but I...

    Original Cast Albums

I'm happy to say that I own all three! (For me, it wasn't eBay, but days of sorting through the record sections at my local thrift stores. I like the Individual Head Shot version of the album best, although the pictures and credits are somewhat misleading. The "Anything Family" is shown...
