Sorry, I don't remember the year. But I think it happened somewhere around the late 70s or early 80s.
And I believe David was surprised and relieved seeing his dear Grandma unharmed.
David's Grandma is quite an amazing woman. :)
I believe there was Frank Oz who did Thig in the Great Santa Claus Switch.
Carroll Spinney who did Big Bird, and now sometimes by Matt Vogel.
Jerry Nelson did Thog, Sam the Robot, and the front half of the Snuffy, who was then taken over by Martin P. Robinson.
Richard Hunt did Sweetums...
Yep, that's the one MuppetDude. :) The first ball got the green cap, the second got the red one, and the third got the blue one. And of course Big Bill got the huge yellow cap.
I remember one time, Oscar invited David's Grandma to come into his can, while David pleaded her not to go in. Soon all you can hear was a bunch of splashing mud, things breaking and tumbling down, and Grandma shouting, "OSCAR, WHERE ARE YOU?!!" over and over again. David was totally freaked...
When I was a little kid. I thought the monster said, "First grade fur", instead of, "First rate fur." Just those words, first grade fur, still makes me laugh to this very day. :)
I remember that basketball made another appearance in another skit. Ernie, wearing a red baseball cap, was with 3 pink ball people. He was their baseball coach and he wanted to give them caps before the game starts. He had 3 small caps and one huge yellow cap. He kept trying the huge cap on...
I liked the part where the MBs wondered why Nanny wanted to get rid of one of them.
PIGGY: "Maybe we cost her too much money."
SKEETER: "Or maybe we're too much trouble."
FOZZIE: "Maybe there's one to many of us for Nanny to start a bowling team."
EVERYBODY: "WHAT??!!"
FOZZIE...
That green kid certainly sounded like a toughy. A football player, wanting to squirt his sister with a hose, wanting a mean dragon, and becoming disgusted with his sensitive sounding brother.
I liked how when Grover was climbing up the stairs while Kermit tells him to keep going, Grover found himself surrounded by clouds. Those must've been really high steps.
Also that drum solo happened in a skit with Grover, Herry, and a small pink monster. They kept counting, 3 monsters and...
It seemed like in the first season, Carroll did other Muppets besides Big Bird and Oscar. The boy in Everyone Likes Ice Cream and the train engineer in Going For a Ride. But after that, Carroll only seems to just stick with Big Bird and Oscar while the other Muppeteers handled all the other...
I think it would've been better if the angel paid Fozzie a visit instead of Kermit. Fozzie went through such a horrible experience trying to do the right thing, but failed. So he should see what life would've been like without Fozzie Bear. That way he wouldn't feel so bad.
Does anyone remember this old rarely seen skit from the 70s?
Bob tells the story of the King of Y. The king, who was light purple with a white mustache and holding a scepter with a capital Y on it, voiced by Frank Oz, made an announcement. He would give a guy his daughter's hand in marraige...
Thank you JaniceFerSure for once again writing down the lyrics for another great song I like. Snowbird. :) I also remember the comedic white bird that bounced in having a funny conversation with Anne. :)
I really liked in this skit how Jim Henson went from an old man's voice, to a middle aged man's voice and then to a cute little kiddie voice. Then back to an old man's voice again.
