Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I really like Spongebob because he's innocent and childlike and is always doing goofy things that usually gets on his friends' and co-workers' nerves. I especially like the Spongebob, Squidward moments. Almost like Ernie and Bert. :)
You know, those Muppets reminds me of some Simpsons characters.
The tough green kid was like Bart.
The sweet girl was like Lisa.
The sensitive purple kid was like Milhouse.
And Cookie was like Homer charging up to the kids to get some ice cream. :)
I remember a Bert in the tub skit done in the 90s. They used the same, Do The Rubber Duck, setting. It showed Bert in the tub singing, I Gotta Be Clean, with four anything Muppets behind him singing backup. Then soon, some animals like a dog, elephant, duck, chicken, penguin, fish, and...
One of my favorite SS films was the one called LISTEN.
It starts off with some quiet soothng noises starting with a beach wave, a doctor listening to a boy's heart, ticking clocks, a galloping horse, and a kid in bed listening to crickets. While a woman said, "Listen", a couple of times...
I remember that episode when I was a kid. :) I also remember The Count coming in and counting all the people in the bathroom. "And one person in the bathtub!" he said looking at an annoyed Bert. Then The Count started counting all the white bricks in the wall, until the gang told him he was...
I liked in the beginning of that skit, where Kermit saw the candle on his desk slowly moving away. He blew out the candle causing it to stop, while Kermit replied, "Think about that, friends!" Like how a Muppet could blow out a candle.
I liked when Link studied the front, left, and right profiles of Banana Nose Maldanado, he went. "I caught this guy and I'm still looking for this one and this one."
And I liked the episode when Patrol Bear brought in a vicious octopus for picking pockets at the aquarium. It was mostly a...
Does anyone remember this episode from the early 80's?
Oscar was watching Slimey opening up his own hot dog stand with a tiny cart. Telly came along and saw the small sign, "Hot Dogs, 1 cent each." Telly thought that was the most amazing deal ever and decided to buy a dog with everything on...
Yeah, I always liked stories about boarding houses. I remember The Muppet's Valentine Special had a bunch of Muppets living together in some kind of house, and Kermit was one of them. That was a nice setting.
Didn't I see Richard Hunt playing a real live phone guy in a couple of SS episodes in the early 80's? The first time, when he came in an interrupted Maria's work to show her the new phone booth installed in the street.
And another time when Richard was going to install a wall phone on Big...
Yes, I remember that cartoon very well from my youth. :) That box the seal was in was probably the same one wheeled box used in cartoons like One Way and Wet Paint. I would so love to see that classic S cartoon again. Does anyone out there have it on video?
Yes, Steve performed the body of Mr. Richfield a lot, and sometimes alternated with Rob Mills. A lot of the puppeteers alternated with each other performing the Dinosaurs, in both the full bodied costumes and the remote controlled mouths.
Here are some of my favorite things.
