Skit: CM gets tried on as a fur coat!

There was this skit, may have been '71, but not sure, where Cookie Monster goes into a dept and one of the anything muppets mistake him for a fur coat!

Ms. Anything: OH! It fits perfectly! I'll charge it and wear it home.

CM: (as they leave ) Lady? Uh,lady! LADY!!

It always was a favorite of mine

That skit was made in 1970! I never saw it before but I've definately heard of it before!

I remember this one. The lady wanted a coat that was blue & furry so the salesman got her a brown furry coat. She said it wasn't blue. So the salesman gets her a blue coat that's not furry, and the lady says she wanted something furry. Frustrated, the salesman aplogizes to the lady and says they have nothing that is both blue and furry. That's when Cookie comes in and the lady grabs him and wraps his arms around her, and leaves with a confused Cookie.

Wow. I've seen that one, but I didn't realize it was so old. I was thinking maybe '75 or '76 when Cookie Monster's personality was more established.
