Very wise words: "You can't reason someone out of something that they didn't reason themselves into in the first place." ;)
And also, sometimes people don't agree. It's not the end of the world as long as everyone is respectful.
My view is, perhaps they are appropriate for the age group, but Sesame Street should also challenge kids with things outside of their knowledge and safety bubble, so they can learn more or recall things later in life.
I'm so glad you're enjoying the set and all the disks seem to work! I am also surprised that I missed so many episodes back in the end! Including the Mudbunny episode, so beautiful and moving. :)
I mean perhaps Richard would have stopped performing the puppet anyway, it probably was very strenuous and full-figured characters weren't his main skill in the group (though obviously he did do a great job with Sweetums hehe).

I do want to see it in a theater; I would only refuse to go if the initial reviews (a mixture of professional, Internet and on here of course hehe) were universally bad, hehe.
It is probably true that Muppet Babies was the main Muppet outlet for a long time. Though I think a lot of kids saw both Muppet Babies and the original movies together. And Nickelodeon showing The Muppet Show in the early '90s was huge exposure for kids of that era.
This could be analyzed and...
I agree, I'm hopeful about the '80s children generation having families in the future. There were SO MANY wonderful kids shows at that time and still a lot of interest around them. (Now if they would only put Muppet Babies on DVD! ;) )
