Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I don't get the impression they meant for Scooter to be unlikeable. It's just that he had a personality hang-up the way all the other characters did which served to drive Kermit crazy. Fozzie's insecurity about his jokes, Gonzo being oblivious that his art was bad and Scooter's willingness to...
Yeah The Muppet Movie was definitely one of those perfect films; they got it right the first time, hehe. Muppets Take Manhattan is so touching and surprisingly grown up and really explored the characters' relationships very well. Great Muppet Caper has some funny moments and all the songs are...
True, but then again there are problems with the show sometimes. Scooter is clearly in the show's first episodes but then suddenly is introduced in episode 6 as a new character, lol.
Gotcha, sorry if I seemed a little forceful, I just hate when people pull the "it's dated" card, lol. ;)
It does sound like you were just expecting something different and that's fine. You can check it out again after giving yourself some space and see it from a fresh perspective.
Well that maybe the problem. You came in with certain expectations. That doesn't mean the movie was at fault.
And I want to note that I wasn't around when The Muppet Movie came out, but I still think it's the best. So again, it's not about the film being dated. ;)
I know that even if I like this new movie, I'm not using it to introduce my kids to the Muppets. If I'm going to do that, Jim's work comes first. And I wasn't even around when The Muppet Movie came out! ;)
Well here is one thing I always say to people. It may not be your cup of tea. But that doesn't mean it's dated. It just means you personally didn't like it. There's a difference. ;)
Try watching again, you might just need to get used to it. I never felt it was slow.
Lol, well remember they're like hippies, their song doesn't need to make sense, just be abstract and groovy, lol.
Maybe it would have been better if it hadn't been in Wal-Mart for so long, lol. ;)
But seriously, I mean you're entitled to your opinion and all, but what didn't you like about it?
To further clarify, in the 1986 special "The Muppets: A Celebration of 30 Years" Piggy says to Kermit, "And you did it tres well, hubby!"
So yeah...I personally think they are married, hehe. ;)
