I'm hoping this movie will be at least #4 for me. Because the first three movies are always going to be numbers 1, 2 and 3 on my list. So #4 is the next best thing, lol. ;)
My logic is this is America, we're supposed to be against censorship. So what if he stated it as fact? He's wrong. Engage him in debate, don't just say he can't say how he feels.
We were also clearly discussing the show's decision not to address the topic and their reasons for it. In no way...
Yeah, he thinks what he's saying is fact. Do I think it is? No. But I didn't say he should be censored. I just engaged him in debate, questioned his point of view and life went on. Nor did I say you should be censored.
And again I have to say, if the post had been about how wrong the Bible was...
I just feel like if the discussion was about why the Bible was wrong, we wouldn't be hearing about how it's "off topic." ;)
Exactly, these things never happen over night. It's really not surprising to me that it hasn't happened yet.
That is very true. But there have always been kids shows...
These big movie franchise fads are always so funny. As soon as the movies are over the fan base will dwindle to a couple of pathetic fan fictions and the occasional "Where Are They Now?'s" in Entertainment Weekly. Always has happened, always will. ;)
Like was said before, no one has to read the posts they don't like. I really don't see why it becomes such a big deal.
It may down the line, just not now. Star Trek tried having a woman in command in the '60s and it didn't get the support it needed. But they were able to do it years later...
From what I've read, there are many men who dress up in drag but are actually straight. And obviously being effeminate isn't a litmus test for sexuality.
I have to disagree. If we can talk about why we think certain parts of the Bible are wrong, then other people can certainly argue why they think it's right. And they're both relevant to the discussion of Sesame Street's motivations behind their actions on this issues.
You're right I am getting repetitive, lol. I do personally think it's still on topic, both his and your responses. We were discussing if Sesame Street was being hypocritical by not addressing homosexuality on its show, but at the same time portraying it cheekily in its merchandise. Naturally the...
You don't agree with it and neither do I. But it's not illegal for him to say it. That's all I'm saying.
It's not just about the merchandise but about Sesame Street's policy on a controversial topic. How they are hesitant to portray gay couples on their show. It's not off topic.
Most of what people post here are their "beliefs" and not facts. I think you both have a right to say what you want to say. Nobody has to read one of them or either of them if they don't want to. ;)
It's funny because usually "We Built This City" is viewed as an example of a once deep band (Jefferson Airplane/Starship) selling out to commercialism, lol. But now the Muppets have actually managed to give the song some dignity! ;)
Very true, some people want to make over Christ in their own image. ;) (Not referring to anyone here). Either that or they're Republican politicians currently in the closet trying to deflect, lol.
Jesus hanging out with sinners did not mean he was presenting their behavior as acceptable. Just that he wasn't going to shun them. That's what I'm saying.
