Lol, that too. I mean I know it's about a little kid, but I would have said, "Kid, Mommy does not need nice shoes to get into Heaven! Who is teaching you this stuff?!" I mean seriously! Lol
Definitely not. I mean I know it sounds awful, but every time I hear that song I keep thinking, "Kid, go home and be with your mother, stop worrying about the freakin shoes!" Lol
You can try but you'll quickly come across a ton of contradictions. If you really want canon you really just need to choose what you like and ignore everything that doesn't fit, lol.
I didn't get the impression the father was familiar with the show; just that he knew his daughter watched it all the time. I mean to be fair he's probably working during the day.
Very true, the context doesn't make any sense and if he listened to it over and over that should have been obvious...
Short answer: There is none, lol.
Not even in the original Muppet Show really. For instance, Scooter is technically introduced as a character in the Jim Nabors episode, episode 6. However, according to Muppet Central's episode guide:
There isn't really a proper canon with the Muppets. There are too many contradictions, lol.
I think MCC was a nice film, but not all that Muppety. And then from the '90s on they really started to flounder. That's why Jason Segal made such a point of trying to return the Muppets to their...
I always felt like Scooter really did respect Kermit, even early on, it's just that he felt he had to pump himself up in order to be taken seriously. Which he probably did considering Kermit was ready to send him out the door on their first meeting, lol.
The trouble really started in very recent years, mainly in interviews where Kermit talked about Piggy.
Though I do Kermit liked Piggy on The Muppet Show. The character was just more stoic than in the movies.
Well yeah that was the style back then, I like it personally, lol.
Here I agree with you, I have never liked this song. It just never grabbed me at all and therefore it feels like it goes on forever, lol.
There were jokes but not as mean spirited as they have been lately. In the past Kermit made jokes but you knew he really liked Piggy. More recently Kermit made jokes and you wondered why he was even with her.
Not so much progress but a greedy economy that purposely sets it up so your computer is needlessly obsolete within a ridiculously short period of time and forces you to buy a new one. ;)
