Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
My last 2 posts have been positive ones so I think you're trying flame an old post even after the subject has advanced because I have a different point of view , but I won't go down that road.
Muppet Central is a place for fans of all ages and not just a promotional tool to cheerlead all...
I am particularly tickled about Animal's bit of added depth in the form of his relationship with his bunny roommate. It brings out something new in an established character and I hope to see more of it. :halo:
Agreed. Bullying has always been around, but I'm glad not to be a young person growing up in the age of iphones, youtube and facebook. School life can be toxic enough without these added tools that can be used for such malicious purposes.
I also think our culture has devolved into one of...
How is it that you manage to say what I'm thinking much better than I can? :D Exactly!
I always wondered why Polly and Pepe didn't have more interaction. Maybe because Bill is Clueless too. I miss them and hope they're brought back for something.
I understand where you're coming from, but can't completely agree with all of it. I must admit that new Muppets aren't only vital; Jim himself kept introducing new characters throughout his Muppeting career. However, pre-1990 the team had much more time to cultivate a new cast. To plant the...
Yeah, I wasn't keen on Clifford at first, but he is an amazingly designed puppet with striking colors. And that's the thing...especially with Sesame Street. 99.9% of the characters on Sesame Street are orange, green, blue and purple rather than different shades of actual human skin-tones. The...
Yeah, we couldn't stock the Dragon figures in our shop, but they were poorly constructed. Every CG movie should have stellar figure sculps seeing that they can send off 3D turnarounds to the factories. Pixar seems to have that down since Bug's Life. I don't think DreamWorks expected Dragon to...
The trailers look great and I've been looking forward to seeing the film. I have to admit to being a little disappointed in last year's Princess and the Frog because traditional animation means so much to me and I hoped P&F would bring it back to the Disney forefront. While it's a very good...
I thought we weren't going to quote one another, but I'll respond this once.
I closely follow films and the creative talent who make them so my viewpoints come from an informed place. I love penguins and owls and I usually don't pass on many films, but I've stated before my hatred of Happy...
I see the best Muppets as having an elegant simplicity to the design and it appears they intended that for this one too. Even though I see what you're saying about Angelo, it still looks like they got it all wrong like things were lost in the translation. The colors are washed out and don't...
I completely agree. The show has gotten better, but the replacement chef is just a bad concept if it can't reach an avid fan like me. All of the Muppet performers are extremely talented - superstars of their profession so it’s not for lack of talent. Brian Henson made the rather run-of-the-mill...
Might I add that continually telling people to stay on topic is in itself off topic. :p As long as the thread subject is touched on somewhere in each post there shouldn't be an issue with other conversations introduced along side it. And constructive criticism is a part of the forum. It isn't...
Forgot about Kingston, but the rest...um....like I stated in my post. It ended up a good thing and you reiterated my statement back to me that a rare exception to the rule could be a good thing. Not sure if you digested my entire paragraph before reacting.
 We've been on topic for several posts now, but I think the other bits of organic growth to this thread have added richness the discussion too. ;)
I wonder how many of Segel's "How I Met Your Mother" costars will lend cameos in this film since it will shooting around his TV...
I agree that the Muppet movie deserves a Pixar-level billboard ad blitz.
TS3 was unsettling especially since the antagonist gets a chance at redemption and passes on it. Woody and Buzz were missing a lot of the camaraderie of the previous pictures. I think that was what really set the tone apart.
