Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Bill Cosby hasn't done a project in years! I always found him to have a degree of disturbing internal darkness that was off-putting, but he's worked well with Muppets before so he'll always be okay IMHO. Even with his puddin'pop-pushing ways!
What I really mean is that I find Perry to...
I can't think of a better role model for this season's Sesame Street after viewing Katy Perry's new video. Maybe it's just me, but the themes in this little song are at the root of what Sesame was about in my day. Let's hope she returns next season and brings her tailor just in case! :o
(come...
I have to admit to being unimpressed with MindStyle's dealing with the Henson properties. It's over-priced and favors a conceptual look rather than a direct take. I'd understand the desire to go off-book if these properties had already been issued many times in their classic form, but that's not...
I agree. I kind of think it's time to move past Angelo and the Kitchen. The Muppets are already on to bigger and better things and Angelo is a little web footnote like From the Balcony. There's some good, some not-so-good and the program has served its promotional purpose. The Muppets were doing...
Gonzo doesn't like questions about his nose. I asked one and he tried to call security on me. ****! You'll never get a straight answer from a Muppet. :concern:
I'm kind of digging this clip from comicon. The drawn forms both appear classic in style with a modern accent. It also seems like they know how to write for these guys. I understand their reasoning for a CG Roadrunner, but I'm not sold. It could be the price paid to have the rest of the series...
I'm thinking Disney might be worried about over saturation. They're in the process or rebranding the classic characters to a new audience. I'm glad they've been going back to their roots to do so, but maybe Disney's staying away from dated stars and periods in favor of glossy new media that...
Oooh! By the way. Something that most humans wouldn't care about, but fans will appreciate...Scooter's back in his shiny jacket! Did anyone notice that in the picture? They remade his jacket into a solid green cotton version a while back, but now it's back to TMS form! ;)
100% agreed. I'm enjoying these different opinions. I'm glad that MC has evolved from the kiddie pool where everything must be sugary sweet, but sometimes there are efforts to yank it back to dullsville. There's no need for censorship as long as the information being voiced isn't technically...
I’ve already spoken to you on this point. We all don't have to like everything you do! This is a discussion, not a contest to get people to agree with you. It's okay to like or dislike something and voice that, but you cannot continue to aggressively antagonize those who disagree with your...
I think it's a timing issue. A little in-the-know birdy informed me a while back that there's much Muppety goodness that's ready and waiting in a holding-pattern until the Disney marketing machine gives it the green-light. Part of me wonders if they're holding back the last two TMS seasons until...
Disclaimer:
We're fans, not publicists, so of course we're going to voice our critical perspective. That's what fan forums are all about so please let's remember that. So far everything here has been fairly constructive from people I know are very knowledgeable fans who loooove the Muppets...
I like Cera too. Scott Pilgrim was a pretty good film too. A little longer than it needed to be, but I enjoyed myself a lot.
I'm wondering if Zach Galifianakis will get booted from the film because of his recent doobie stunt. I hope not! He has the kind of energy made for the Muppets. I just...
I like some of the commercially available stuff, but I like getting my own single-shot stuff printed through Cafe Press or another online vendor. Those with art skills should check that out. Want the Muppet Movie poster on a quality Hanes shirt of a specific color and size...if you have a medium...
Disney's got lots of Marvel stuff online, some in the the shop and will do lots more down the line too. We must remember that Marvel probably has long term licensing deals with non-Disney manufacturers. That limits Disney's hand in some ways for a while, but they've started injecting their...
Really? The vinylmations have been doign great. Maybe the Pook-a-looz are seasonal and will get another launch. Let's hope. Personally I would have made them 20% smaller and have them sold in all stores. They could save a few exclusives for the Disney locations. A lot of shops would have carried...
WB uses Bugs and the gang like sound bite spouting logos rather than full-formed characters. They don't need a live action or computer gimmick nor do they need to stuff every character into every single shot. All of that dilutes the inherent magic these guys still have.
What should they do...
