    "Muppets Take Manhatten" Revisited

The way I look at it, life is the (sometime) antagonist in MTM. Sometimes life works in your favor and supports your dreams. And sometimes it doesn't. You just have to keep going. :) Life as an antagonist. We're not likely to see this in a Muppet movie again. ;)

    "Muppets Take Manhatten" Revisited

^^^I can't put it better than that. :) And perhaps after a movie like MTM it's hard for me to accept anything less. :halo:

    "Muppets Take Manhatten" Revisited

Have you tried watching Muppet Show at all? Movies like MTM were targeted at an audience used to watching the Muppets every week. And yeah maybe MWoW's pacing is technically "faster," but its story is eons below MTM, lol.

Scooter's Role in the Muppet Movies

He was very much a main character on Muppet Show. But starting with the films it became more difficult to fit him in since he didn't have a clear cut job as Kermit's go-fer anymore. I wouldn't call his parts in TMM or GMC cameos, more like a supporting character.

Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

I get you. I was a lot happier with TM2011 than with MMW. TM2011 didn't make me laugh too much but it was sweet and I appreciated the love and care that went into it. Especially after the previous films as you say.

What is your least favorite Muppet Movie?

Well I didn't just say "it has Scooter in it." I said it was the best replacement I had heard. I can watch that one scene and enjoy myself. ;)

What is your least favorite Muppet Movie?

I can at least appreciate MWoO for having the most astonishingly accurate Scooter replacement. Wasn't expecting that, lol. And yeah I didn't laugh much during TM2011 either.

Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

Just for the record, I had no particular desire to see Segel and Adams again and no, I have never and will never see Divergent, lol. And actually circa 1982 you were more likely to see edgy family films. TMM got in trouble for featuring smoking and drinking. MTM had jokes about shootings. MMW is...

Guys, nostalgia is half the reason Bayformers was successful. Don't discount it. ;)

Muppets Most Wanted Box Office Numbers

That's the thing. There was no such thing as a "70's styled vaudeville show." Vaudeville was dead. The Muppets reinvented the idea and pretty much owned it. I'm not saying a copy of Muppet Show is required. But you never know what will catch on with Television (or won't). Surprises happen all...

Muppets Most Wanted Box Office Numbers

I remember the 60 Minutes special mentioning that the Muppets were about the only successful Vaudeville left, both on and off Television. That's a pretty impressive feat, even with variety shows being all the rage. But I get what DrTooth means, the '70s was an unusual time. I mean, mimes had a...

    I miss Rizzo!

At least Rizzo's moment in MMW was memorable. Everyone else just felt like they were taking up background space for a group photo. There's too much attention to making sure every single character fits in the shot.

Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

The only Constantine joke I laughed at at all was the Fonzie thing. And maybe the cheese thing. But I will say I have really adored some online interviews Constantine did with Gervais. It's frustrating when you KNOW there's potential there but somehow the final script felt off. Stupid studios, lol.

Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

Yes that's the joke and on Muppet Show it was perfectly executed. Kermit glumly yet hopefully calling it a "second rate variety show" to Mark Hamill is funny from a character standpoint. You are laughing WITH the Muppets. In MMW the joke is now ON the Muppets and that is very different. Some...

Me too...me too. It's great that you had a good job. I wish I could agree, I can't. I honestly just want to forget the whole thing. But I'm not trying to take your experience from you. Oh well. At least I still have my "Kermit tapes." :)

What is your least favorite Muppet Movie?

At the moment I'm seriously tempted to dub MMW as the worst I've ever seen, but the scenes with Kermit in the gulag gave it a couple points up.

I would say no, because that's one of the (very few) lines I actually laughed at too. :halo:
