Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

If you want to talk about Kermit's scenes in this film, I'm on board. Had a great time with him in the gulag. The rest of the film? I was trying very hard not to cry for 2 hours and I assure you I'm not even kidding. I can't recommend this film...... Anyway, I was genuinely touched when...

    Anyone else sick of this?

After seeing the film, ironically the voices were the last thing that bothered me. I thought Steve and everybody did an awesome job in that department. The writers, not so much. And frankly, being such a MTM fan, I felt heartsick hearing "Together Again" being used in this film.

Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

Honestly because if the tone and plot make me uneasy, I tend to stop paying attention to how the film looks. And I'm not just blindly disliking a new project or anything. Look back at my old posts, I was overall very kind to Muppets 2011. That's why it was so painful watching this film and not...

Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

That I actually very much agree with. It did feel like a proper movie this time. My issues with the film definitely weren't with how it looked. Mainly with the script, as usual.

Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

I did laugh when he suggested the world tour to Kermit after the song was over. The human cameos were all top notch to my surprise and delight. I just wish they'd let the Muppets borrow some of the funny lines once and awhile. The writers seemed very comfortable writing for the humans and then...

Her father did just see it as another pig and he warned Fern about getting too attached to Wilbur. He knew she'd just eventually be disappointed and hurt.

Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

And in much the same way, Constantine entices the Muppets by letting them do whatever they wanted, regardless of how it affected the show. The script for Star Trek V was a mess (writer's strike) and there was a lot of complaints behind the scenes that everyone on the Enterprise seemed to fall...

Muppets Most Wanted Box Office Numbers

For the sake of people who enjoyed the film, I'm glad. I can't join in the enthusiasm for this film, but for the sake of the Muppets overall, I'm glad if they remain in the spotlight.

Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

You know what it reminded me of? The infamous Star Trek V. The villain was a guy good at manipulation who ends up taking over the group. The shining hero, Captain Kirk (or in this case Kermit or Walter) is the only one who sees through him. Meanwhile the crew (or in this case, the rest of the...

Your Thoughts: "Muppets Most Wanted" Theatrical Film

I hear you, man, I hear you. :D Actually, things started off OK. I really enjoyed the Sequel number. That stayed in my head for the whole movie and I was grateful. :) Because after that, it felt like a very long 2 hours. Starting with that first scene where Ricky Gervais is conning the...

Muppets Most Wanted Box Office Numbers

Well good news, guys, my friend and I went to the theater today and MMW sold out - twice! So in the meantime we're having dinner before the next show (which we wisely got tickets for beforehand this time, lol). Stay tuned!

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

There is a scene when Wilbur is owned by the Uncle and the adults still make a comment about him becoming smoke and bacon and ham. So at some point he was still going to be killed. They're not trying to be cruel to Fern, that's just farm life.

    Anyone else sick of this?

I seriously doubt most of the people going were huge Peabody fans to begin with. I'm sure if my Dad went to see the film he'd instantly be complaining about the voice. Guess I'm a half casual then, lol. I did touch the franchise since and usually came to regret it. So did most audiences...

    Anyone else sick of this?

Again, with all credit to the new(er) performers), I'd say that fan reaction is a testament to how much fans still appreciate Jim (and Frank). It means his work hasn't been forgotten. That's not a bad thing, guys, lol. I guess I'm used to this reaction as a Soap Opera fan. Characters change...

Well you yourself said you were concerned that Jim Henson not be forgotten. I think the fact that fans notice that Kermit's voice is different proves Jim is still very much on people's minds. :)

    Jim Henson Forgotten?

I think fans are doing a good job of keeping his memory alive. :) Certainly Disney isn't helping much with its bizarre phobia of admitting the Muppets are puppets with performers behind them (or under them, heh). And even earlier Henson projects where the DVD commentaries were with the...
