True- no argument there.
I think most of the commercialization claim is just from all the merchandising and things that are thrust upon holidays- Christmas and Easter in particular- though one could argue that for Valentine's Day and Halloween too.
But that's just the point, isn't it? I think...
Fraggle Rock has always been great for dealing with deep themes and definitely can do better than just a Easter egg hunt. I'm interested in this Mudwell episode now that you mention the themes it deals with. I must admit I haven't seen some Fraggle Rock episodes in quite a while- I'll have to...
This is why vast majority of my TV-watching is on DVD and VHS and/or online. And of course, I do tune in when I can for Jeopardy! Wheel of Fortune, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and Sesame Street!:):super::wisdom:
I've been cycling through Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman on DVD! I really like this show pretty well- though I recall watching it the first time around on TV and thinking that the last two seasons started to get kind of stupid. But oh well- you get that kind of thing in...
Hmm- well, hopefully no cartoon aimed at children would even hint at encouraging drug use- but honestly this sounds like the same sort of stupid claims people make about Scooby-Doo and Shaggy. And even if you could try to read that in there, I'm sure with Mighty Mouse and most other cartoons, it...
You know you're an obsessed Muppet fan if you've sworn off eating pork- not because of Jewish dietary laws or for being a vegetarian, etc.- but because of fear of Miss Piggy!
LOL! That would be hilarious.:D
Oh well- I guess any excuse to make a little more money...
Hopefully it will actually be worthwhile to Fraggle Rock fans with some kind of bonus or something- but I think it's probably just marketed to the casual fans who want to enjoy a few episodes of a...
Yep- I saw this too. Nice to see some classic cartoons getting released to DVD (and Mighty Mouse is very classic- but it seems there hasn't been much, if anything, official for the character until now.) And with Ralph Bakshi doing the animation for this '80s gem, you know it's good stuff.:D
Hey- just saw this at http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Fraggle-Rock-Easter-DVD/12772
Looks like Lionsgate is releasing "Fraggle Rock Easter" on DVD on February 9th, 2010!
I presume it would include episodes of the show with something of an Easter theme (though I really can't think of too...
I'm pretty sure I have an issue or two. I know I've got a Fraggle Rock comic and I think I've got one of the Muppet Babies. I also have "The Muppets Take Manhattan" 3 comic book set.:):o:concern:
I'd have to agree that I love Big Bird in some of his movies- particularly Follow That Bird. But there's great moments all throughout- certainly the first meeting of Snuffy and the death of Mr. Hooper. I also thought the Hurricane episodes were great and Big Bird went through a lot in that one...
