Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Well, it's not on either Noggin or The N. It's actually on the 3 AM-5 AM "Cable in the Classroom" block. And from the looks of it, it'll be staying for a while. (Maybe not in a permanent, weekly slot, but we'll find out soon enough...)
Well, DirecTV's website shows it too...maybe the lady WAS wrong. (Or maybe she was lying because she wanted you to stop calling them. She probably wouldn't like you after getting calls from you so often, about the same subject...:))
...and the reason The Electric Company aired right before it...
What's so impressive? They just pre-recorded the lyrics, then Oz and two other puppeteers lip-synched to them. (That's how they do all songs with multiple Muppets performed by the same person. When speaking is concerned, another puppeteer does the character, and the real performer dubs the voice...
Now, now, with all the homophobia, prejudice, etc. in the real world, I can see why he thinks it'll shock you...it doesn't really shock me, though...
We all love you just the way you are, furryfella...
Hey, I just discovered a really cool webtoon site, Homestar Runner. It's at www.homestarrunner.com. Has anyone heard of it?
Anyway, anyone who wants to see this really funny site, go there ASAP!
The songs with one of the puppeteers singing multiple voices were actually pre-recorded, and puppeteers just lip-synched to them (thus, as far as the actual puppeteering goes, only one of the characters was performed by their normal performer)...
I LOVE that book! Butter Battle Book forever!!!
(Of course, the reason I read it in the first place is because, as a kid, I had a strange obsession with children's books featuring/involving food...but that's another story for another time...)
Well, SSU is old, and has less/no Elmo, and thus kids won't watch it. Season 25 has less Elmo, and an "around the corner" location that will have kids asking why the episodes aren't set on Sesame Street...
Here's something that puzzles me. Reading the guide to The Muppet Valentine Show, I noticed this:
"Mia and Rufus then sing "How much is that Doggy in the window". [This song has been edited out of this special when it has re-aired on television. In February 1993 when the pilot was shown on...
About the "Wet Paint" question...it was on the video "Count It Higher: Great Music Videos from Sesame Street," which featured the Count as a VJ on an MTV-style music video program...
Let's see:
-I'm An Aardvark
-Touch, Hold, Feel
-Run
-That's About the Size of It
(note: unsure about the following four)
-The Alligator King
-Martian Beauty
-Ten Tiny Turtles
-Ladybug Picnic
A Bob Hope special with the Muppets?! I guess that's something to go see when I go back...I saw a ton of Henson stuff there (I spent FOUR DAYS watching almost nothing but Henson/Muppet stuff)
Agreed, Luke. I know of the horror stories from Delphi, and I don't want such a thing to be repeated...
I just think it's neat to have a Muppeteer here, no matter who he is...:)
Sorry, I hadn't read the earlier pages in this thread when I posted it, and I got the wrong idea...I thought you were just asking that out of the blue, and I understand that I'm wrong. Read the earlier pages, WiGgY, your questions will be answered.
