It was on Obama and the Democrats to prove why they were better than the Republicans. But as usual, they come off as elitist and laughably out of touch with average people.
The Republicans are indeed ripping the working class off. We need a hero to shed some light here. But the Democrats have...
I just wish we had serious candidates whose names weren't Clinton or Bush. I didn't know we still had royalty in this country. :insatiable:
I know we had the two Roosevelts, but Clinton and Bush are no Roosevelt! :p
Agreed. Frankly, I don't think you can be a Christian and a businessman/woman at the same time. If you want to stand on beliefs, then you may have to sacrifice your livelihood. No man can serve God and money. (Nevermind I think Christians take a couple random passages on the topic in the Bible...
Agreed 100%. It's terrifying and so frustrating because it feels like nobody's doing anything about it. And clearly it's a lot more serious than anything Christians face in the US.
By the same token, while it is foolish and backward for US businesses to deny same sex couples service, our...
When a company buys a franchise, they often prefer to bring in their own people, mainly just to justify their purchase and make it seem like they're putting their own stamp on things.

Well, the "Sgt." and "Pepper" thing is obviously a Beatles reference. Though, I also think I recall in that John Denver special, Floyd saying something about having been in the war. I'll have to watch it again.
He did a lovely job in MegaMind, I was really impressed with how much heart he brought to that character.
Most of his movies are pretty pandering, but it wouldn't be the first time such a comic got a place on the Walk of Fame. And he can be funny under the right conditions.
You can do both. Stanley Kubrick has done it. Mel Brooks has done it. South Park (a much smarter show, IMHO) has done it. Can we bring them in to tutor Seth MacFarlane? Lol. His problem is there is no one to root for on Family Guy. A lot of comedy works because we feel like we're taking a side...
I didn't see the episode, but I don't blame you. This is why comedy needs boundaries, lol. Not to limit them, but to avoid losing the message completely.
Correct, but as I've said before, in the original movies it was done with some indirect cleverness. Just having a character say "fart" to get a cheap laugh is the definition of desperate, pandering, studio mandated humor.
Well my Sophomore English teacher told us Mark Twain came to resent how much readers loved Tom Sawyer. Apparently he felt Huck Finn was clearly the more admirable character (I agree), and was annoyed that an amoral rascal like Sawyer was so much more popular.
And I think audiences nowadays tend...
Well that's something anyway!
For me, nothing can beat the ending of 1950's Cinderella. When she reveals she has the other slipper, and then they immediately cut to the Stepmother's shock. It's such a "**** yeah!" moment! Lol, kudos to the editor for getting it. We need that triumphant moment...
