Never mind wouldn't the prince recognize that this isn't the same girl he danced with? And I mean, a lot of women have similar shoe sizes, doesn't seem the best way to go about this, lol.
Except The Muppet Movie, Great Muppet Caper, and Muppets Take Manhattan. ;)
And when they did attempt some toilet humor (like with Rowlf in MTM), it was done with some indirect cleverness. It wasn't just a cheap, studio mandated gag.
And if I ever have kids, it's jokes like that that will keep...
I don't know who said "so what?" about MFS, but it certainly wasn't me, lol.
You act like everyone was cool with '90s Muppets and then suddenly they're hating on MMW. The '90s Muppet films have always had their share of criticism. There's no hypocrisy here.
The writer who thought Fozzie was...
Technically Alvin and Ducktales did have better motion. I'm not sold on Smurfs though. Character wise they were all great shows, of course.
There we will never agree, lol. MFS is why TM was necessary.
Well I won't make excuses for the animation (apart from, "Duh, it was the '80s!" :p). Ironically though, my father, of all people, was always praising the show for its episodes that paid tribute to classic art and animation, lol.
That's a good point--suspending disbelief vs diminishing the characters.
I'd be disappointed if he stayed having amnesia by the end. ;)
MTM is a different kind of Muppet movie, no doubt. If you stumbled upon it on TV, in a random non-Muppets scene, you'd probably think it was a grown up '80s...
I have no idea what Muppet Babies ever did to you, but to each their own, lol.
I've been watching MTM. I guess that makes me a truncated fan. ;)
On the contrary, MTM made each Muppet quite important as we yearned for their return. TM and MMW tried to cram every single character into every...
And the excuse is always, "Well that's the joke." But a joke needs to come from the established personalities of the characters. It was completely out of character for Piggy to flee in fear when Constantine yells at her. This is Miss Piggy we're talking about--she makes Kermit run screaming from...
You know, in GMC, they explained that they were satirizing a Caper movie. MMW opens with them explaining that they're doing a sequel. They should have satirized sequel cliches. Not paid limp tribute to a sitcom plot.
If you've ever seen the Muppets' Frog Prince, I'd give that moment a "polite chuckles." ;)
Giving Constantine an over the top accent is fine. But they should have made him able to fake the Kermit voice a bit more and just have some mistakes occasionally slip through. The fact that he's not even...
That's the whole point of the film though. They separate the Muppets, and we the audience feel the pain Kermit is going through along with him. And the moments we do get with the other Muppets mean that much more. The scene with Scooter's letter ("Have you sold the show yet? Have you heard from...
As a fan of MTM since age 0, we will have to agree to disagree there, lol. :insatiable:
I do agree that MTM is a very different tone from TMS. It's more about sentimentality than cynical show biz humor. I just don't see much resemblance between TMS and MMW (or TM).
In TMS they all kinda know...
Well what makes you think I'm comparing MMW to TM? I honestly haven't watched either film since the theatre. When I compare a new Muppets movie, it's generally to the original three. Is that fair?....Nope!* ;)
