Political correctness has gone WAY TO FAR

Here's another example of what I'm talking about. The other day on a message board I saw some people demanding a litmus test for, of all things, soap opera actors. They should all be as progressive in real life as the characters they portray, or they shouldn't get hired. I responded with, "I...

Agreed. And again, that goes for both "sides" of the argument.

Political correctness has gone WAY TO FAR

Yes, but the overwhelming majority of people who are concerned about political correctness are not alt righters. And their pov on the matter is valid. Here's an example, Viola Davis gave a speech at the Emmys about the challenges African American actresses face. Another actress, Nancy Lee...

Political correctness has gone WAY TO FAR

Yeah that idea of numbers instead of names has been around Science Fiction a long time, such as The Prisoner and Logan's Run, etc.

    The Classic TV Thread

Is 1995 too soon to be classic TV? I found this clip from Lois & Clark recently, I remember this was a HUGE moment for fans of the show! “I’m Clark Kent…No I’m Superman…Mild mannered reporter…Superhero…Hello!…Duh!…Clark Kent is Superman!!!”

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

Oh you're right! That's gorgeous, I love how you can see all the characters in the windows. Honestly, it feels like Christmas is going by so fast, I wouldn't mind if it did start a little early next year. ;)

    What's next for the Muppets?

They could do something like that in those behind the scenes segments that air after each Star Trek: Discovery episode.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

I'm glad Frank said that, that was good of him considering all the bashing Steve has been dealing with. And yes, he has known Steve a long time, and as an adult. Whereas, like I've said before, the Henson children didn't know Steve in the same way. In any case, this does seem to have largely...

Video: Matt Vogel premieres as Kermit in Muppet Thought of the Week

Hey, it's a second rate one liner! :) Kidding aside, I think Matt did a great job. I wasn't reminded of Constantine, definitely reminded of Jim. And it was wise of them to limit the moment to a one liner, just a small taste. Down the line of course, Disney is going to have to work on the...

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

For the record, I wasn't reminded of Constantine at all. I was reminded of Jim's Kermit which is never a bad thing. ;) But a lot of that will also depend on the writing from now on. That's what Disney really needs to work on.
