    R.I.P.: Alaina Reed Hall

Indeed very sad news. That's another wonderful person we've lost to cancer. She was a great singer and actress and as you can see, she will be missed. I'm upset that there haven't been any official news releases about this yet. You'd think we'd at least get a little "blurb" or something. I'm...

    Froggy the Green Frog Babyyyyyyyyyy!

Good observation- he is almost always called "frog" by everyone else in the Newsflash sketches. I always liked the "magic mirror's" comment to him: "It drives her up the wall, froggie." It was more in the muppet show days that they began to refer to him (mostly) as Kermit.

    Old Sesame Street Magazine

Hi Pursuit- I don't recall that magazine, but there was a drawing of the inside of Oscar's can that appeared in the "Sesame Street book and record" set, as well as a 45rpm single release of "I love trash". That drawing also assumed that Oscar's can had a ladder going down into a "cave"...

    Sesame Street Google Doodles

This is an awesome idea! I hope they consider it for next week and the official anniversary day.

    Youtube trouble.

My friend Lee directed me to a blog posting that relates to some of the issues that YouTube is creating by offering advertising with its videos. It's worth a read for those of us who like to post videos. Here's a quote: "YouTube requests that anyone who posts a video on their site be the...

Photo of The Original Telly Monster!

As I recall, his voice sounded like Beauregard from "The Muppet Show."

Photo of The Original Telly Monster!

Good memory Xerus, that's exactly how I recall it as well. I don't recall the other sequences, but they sound cool and very much in line with the scene. One other moment I remember was David asking Telly if he wanted to play some baseball, and Telly answering, "Sure, what channel is it on?" :)

Will there be a CD collection for Sesame's 40th anniversary?

Argh! Very sorry to hear that. Any kind of classic Sesame St. album release would be welcomed by many of us old-school fans. Our only hope is that maybe they just need more time. We'll see.

Photo of The Original Telly Monster!

Yes, that's what he looked like & I'm 99% sure it was taken from his first episode (he should be looking at a little TV set on the box there.) Thanks for letting us know!

    2012 Theories

I think the point is to always be aware that it could happen. It's not so much a "fear" thing as an understanding that I could die tonight - and am I ready for that (spiritually)? And if I don't die, that's fine, because I'm set for when I do. This is where faith comes in. Please indulge me a...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street on Dinner: Impossible

At the very opening of the show, there was a brief disclaimer that began with "What you are about to see is real." This proves that the muppets are actually real. :) Fortunately, the producers played along, and while the show was mostly for cooking fans, there was certainly enough muppet fun...

    Rare Sam and Friends photos

Indeed, great fun, historic photos. Thanks to MuppetDanny for letting us know and Bob for posting these. (Now if you'll excuse me for a second. . .400 posts! 400 posts! Yay!) :)

    "Quality" TV Being Phased Out?

I'm sorry to say I see what you mean. TV does not have the place in my life that it had when I was younger. There's not much on that I "need" to watch. I recently missed a program on the History channel that I wanted to see. But so what? It wasn't the end of the world. I'm blessed to have other...

Mary Travers of PPM passes away at 72

Yes, and I recall PP&M performing that song in at least one of their televised concerts. Can't find it immediately on Youtube, though. :) I've made a post to my blog about Peter, Paul & Mary that includes lyrics to 2 of their songs and the time I almost made it to their concert. . ...

Mary Travers of PPM passes away at 72

So sorry to hear about this. Peter, Paul & Mary are easily one of the most important music groups in my life. I knew Mary had been ill, but was hoping she would regain enough strength to keep going for a while longer. She will be missed. Her beautiful voice was an important part of the group, as...

    Struggling for your art

Indeed, but let me try to slosh through the ponds with you. :) I think that often, the client will "think" that they know what they want, but when they see the finished product, they get upset that it's not the way they wanted it. "But it's what you asked for!" "No, no, that's not what we...

More- a short film by Mark Osbourne

Sounds cool- There is actually a funny short cartoon by Mitchell Rose also titled "More". It's basically making fun of our desire to want "more" of everything. I haven't seen it on YouTube, but Mitchell Rose does have a Web page: http://www.mitchellrose.com
