Good wishes & prayers on the way. I hope you're feeling well soon!

    No more CDs?

Best Buy has always had a pretty good selection, and these days it is probably a good "first place to look" for a particular CD. At least it's a step above Wal-Mart. :) But like Wal-Mart, Best Buy doesn't have to rely only on CD sales to make a profit. The stores that have probably been...

    No more CDs?

Me too- I'm not so much "against" Mp3 players & the like as I just want to make sure I'm able to play the music I want to hear. And there's some stuff that I like that isn't readily available for Mp3 download from the "big" music sites.

    Robert Cunniff Memorial Help Needed

You're quite welcome, I'm glad I could help out a bit. And thanks to Youtube poster PiLfan and Sesame Workshop for their help. Hopefully you've got the skit in your collection, but if not, please let us know quickly so we can ship it out to you! Thanks for keeping us informed about the service...

    What SS sketches are these?

Nice call- that's from the beginning of a skit where Ernie and Bert decide to go their own separate ways. But Maria talks to them and helps them imagine how lonely life would be without each other, and they decide to forget about the argument over the cookie. That skit was repeated in later...

    Robert Cunniff Memorial Help Needed

Hi- I'm sorry to hear about the loss. My best to his friends & family. Besides your own collection, the easiest way to find 1973 episodes is to pick up a copy of "Sesame Street Old School volume 1" at a local store. There's obviously no guarantee that Mr. Cunniff's work will specifically be...

    No more CDs?

As a music collector, I think this is an important issue. There are, for example, many old record albums that still aren't officially on CD. (Like those old great Sesame Street albums!) If we switch to a totally new format, it could mean having to "re-record" them all over again. That takes time...

What is your greatest Sesame Street memory?

Man, oh man, oh man. :) There are so many. I enjoyed reading dwmckim's list - it had many of the same classics that I like as well. I don't have one "favorite", but one skit that often comes to mind is the Ernie and Bert skit where Ernie wants to take Bert's bowling ball along for his bath. That...

Sesame Street Old School Vol 2

That's the problem! :) At least they've released a handful of them, but for all 3,000 or so, we're probably going to have to wait until some day in the future when "downloading" all that stuff is actually possible. For now, we can enjoy what is available, and maybe do video trades with other...

Sesame Street Old School Vol 2

If you haven't already, try to pick up a copy of "Old School Volume One" as well. Even though the episodes are earlier, you'll probably see plenty of skits in there that you'll remember from the day!

If you could have any Muppet puppet...

Not quite, but it's a treasure, anyway. :) Hold on to it if you can! ======================================== Back in November, we had a discussion about where famous "retired" TV puppets are kept. (not the muppets specifically, but Kukla & Ollie, Beany & Cecil, etc.) I put all the info...

Stick Out Your Hand and Say Hello

Hi- The song actually was rerun in several episodes in the late 1990s, which increases the chances that somebody might have a copy of it. I'm hoping one of our YouTubers can help you out. :) Rick Moranis also appeared in a skit as "Minnesota Shorts" (I think) playing a game of pool with Grover.

If you could have any Muppet puppet...

That's a great question. Just to find any official muppet would be quite a treasure in itself, no matter who it was! But as an "old-school Sesame" fan, I would probably opt for either Ernie, Bert, Cookie, Grover or Oscar.

    Billy Joe Jive

I'm not sure about the Filmation connection, but a Web search led me to a page with info. about Billy Jo Jive's creator, John Shearer. It says that he produced the short films for Sesame St. If we could contact him, he could give us the scoop! http://www.answers.com/topic/john-shearer

It was November 1983, episode 1839, which aired on Thanksgiving Day of that year.

    Bob McGrath's singing

Some things do improve with age. :) It's fun to look back and find the "good" parts of all the things that used to turn you off. It's like Mr. Rogers - I made fun of him when I was younger, but today I consider him a hero! A blogger from Japan has posted a picture of the cover of the "Mitch...

    More Electric Company Memories

Me either- it's fun to watch the original "Producers" movie and realize that the two leads would later go on to play the Spellbinder and Letterman!

Koch Records to produce Sesame Street CD's

Agreed, it's too bad they're not releasing anything "new." But at least the ones they are releasing are pretty good selections from the past CD releases. If they add "Bert and Ernie's Greatest hits" into the mix, along with maybe "Platinum too," then you've got a pretty good selection for the...

More vs. Different Sesame Street Content

I think we all have different favorites that we enjoy and want to see more of. It's very difficult to please everybody. After more than 30 years, the best they can do in an hour-long show is touch on the big "highlights," which means they have to leave out an awful lot. If I were doing a tribute...

    Searching for Waymeranians Sketches/Music

I wish I knew the name of the piece. We really need an expert in classical music to help us identify all the classical pieces that have been played on the show through the years. I happened to identify the "sad flower" music as a piece by Vivaldi just because I happened to hear it on the radio...
