The dark day of Valentines Day is upon us...

I'm going to be going shopping for clearance sale candy the day after VD, as per tradition. :)

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Well, Fifty Shades Freed topped the charts last weekend, though lower than past entries. And unfortunately, Peter Rabbit was able to get lucky with 2nd place by virtue of being the only family film out there, though far below Hotel Transylvania or Cloudy numbers, at least...

The Nostalgia Critic Thread Lives Again!

D'oh! I forgot about Carrey's 2nd VA role, which was Mr. Scrooge('s corpse) in Imagemovers' A Christmas Carol. Really goes to show how memorable that one was when I forgot it the first time. :P

Because that's where the commercial break is placed. Guess you have all your ad blockers on like I do.

Official: Disney announces Muppet Babies return in 2018

Dee Bradley Baker as Animal? Called it! :) Not to mention Disney probably wants this show to last a good long while, so they're going with a younger cast. Not to mention the cost of hiring Frank Welker.

The NEW Nanny of Muppet Babies revealed...

Jenny "Smellwether" Slate has kind of a squeaky, youthful voice to her, more like that of a teen or college-aged babysitter as opposed to a June Cleaver type. So I like the direction they're going with. Also, Nanny seems to have ditched her trademark striped stockings, or at least varied her...

The Nostalgia Critic Thread Lives Again!

On the flipside, this was Jim Carrey's first (and so far only) voice acting role, and it left much to be desired compared to his live-action roles. I agree with Drtooth in that Fox could have saved a lot of money by hiring Matt Frewer instead, but as we've seen before, big-name celebrity...

    Super Bowl LII: The Commercials

And how 'bout those 30 seconds of dead air? At first I thought it was just on my affiliate's end, but apparently it was nationwide. Could have been a Tide ad for all I know. :D

    Super Bowl LII: The Commercials

Nice to know that Tide can afford so many ads from all those Pods that kids swallowed.

Super Bowl LII: New England Patriots vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are flying higher than ever, and Sam could not be any happier! :attitude:

Super Bowl LII: New England Patriots vs. Philadelphia Eagles

I voted for the Pats as they are a shoo-in for victory, but I'm rooting for the Eagles as they're the underdogs, never winning a Super Bowl before.

The Danger and Eggs Appreciation Thread!

Dang, "The Big Z" was a pretty brutal episode for this kind of show. It's about D.D. wanting to ride a really long zip line in the park and suffering a wheezy, energy-draining asthma attack as they get closer to it, as her inhaler ran empty. It really put both D.D.'s daredevil nature and...

Everybody! Everybody! - Muppetgem's Homestar Runner fanart

Definitely a good JEEEOREAAAARB you did there. It's very reminiscent of the style used in some of the earliest Flash cartoons. :)

Important Reminder that Muppet Babies is for Kids

I'm hoping this new show gets to do stuff that the original never got to, like introduce even more baby versions of Muppet characters, or maybe even take them outside the nursery like what Baby Looney Tunes did. Maybe we get to see them as the Avengers, with a Stan Lee cameo for good measure? :D

    So . . . A New Mario Movie?

Now Rare composer Grant Kirkhope (Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, Mario + Rabbids) hopes to compose the score. https://gamingreinvented.com/interview/lets-interview-banjo-kazooie-and-mario-rabbids-composer-grant-kirkhope/ Considering Nintendo wants maximum creative control of the property, I'm...

    Underrated TV

Many American preschool shows get British dubs when exported across the pond, too. Blue's Clues even replaced Steve with a British guy named Kevin.

    Underrated TV

Winx Club is the one you're thinking about. There actually existed two different English dubs before Nick (and later DuArt) took over: the first one nicknamed the RAI English dub which is more faithful to the Italian script, and the second done by 4Kids which took more liberties. The former was...

    Underrated TV

Jess Harnell was the voice of Jerry in the first 2 seasons. They likely re-cast him with Adrian Truss as he was cheaper, being Canadian and all. Alex was re-cast as well.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

The 3rd Maze Runner topped the box office last weekend, albeit with a lower opening than the past two. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/?yr=2018&wknd=04&p=.htm
