I loved this one. Typical Grover moment. Bert's set up line was(I can't remember exactly) "Something, something, let's give 3 loud cheers" and Grover followed up with "For these are the things that we all call our (slight pause) bellybuttons"
Hilarious.
I believe it was discussed in a previous thread. Sweetums apparently appeared on the Sonny & Cher show(or some TV special perhaps) and did a duet with Cher. I believe the Electric Mayhem also appeared as well.
Clips of these appear during video packages that were shown between songs during...
They did seem like that had a lot of fun with each other. It always seemed to me they never followed a strict script, but just had a general idea on how the sketch would run, and basically just wing it, throwing in ad-libs. At least that's how it looked to me. You could say the same about...
There was also one I remember where Kermit got him back. If I remember correctly, Grover was talking about a certain number(can't remember which one) and was asking various Muppets why that number was their favorite(in each case, they said it wasn't). Kermit came up just like Grover and yelled...
I hope so. I did get the full-screen versions, simply because I didn't want to take the chance it would go out of print and I would never have a copy of the movie. But we can hope that a widescreen version gets released. The original 3 (TMM, GMC, MTM) all got widescreen releases and so did...
Similar to this one, was the one where Ernie had written a story, and it turned out all he did was type out the alphabet. He was reading it to Bert, adding specific emotions along the way. For example, "Here comes the sad part Bert" and then cries as he reads. Bert of course is trying to tell...
I liked how they used him in MTI. He was on the island with the pigs, wearing a pig nose. Some one on screen commented to the audience "How else were we going to work him into this movie" or words to that effect. Thought that was pretty funny.
Kinda hard to describe. Even Scooter said before the sketch "Even when you know what it's about, you don't know what it's about". It basically involved Scooter hunting some kind of dragon-like creature called the Jabberwocky. It's done mostly in rhyme, I think. That's the best way I can...
He also ran a motorcycle up a ramp and landed safely in the box between those two elderly gentleman.
Tap danced in a giant vat of oatmeal.
Hypnotized himself and held up a 5000 pound weight.
Wrestled a brick blindfolded.
That's all I can think of right now.
Now that I think about it, I think he was shot from a cannon on Muppets Tonight once. Seem to recall Gonzo flying through the studio like he was shot out of a cannon once on the show.
There was another one where Ernie locked Bert out. Bert comes home and notices the door is locked. He knocks for Ernie to let him in. When Ernie doesn't answer, he's worried something happened to him. Ernie finally comes to the door and asks him to stay outside for a while. Bert wonders why...
