Muppet Show DVD season box sets announced

Well, when they released the Flintstones first season DVD set last year, they used the original openings again(as opposed to the newer one where Fred slides down the tail of his dinosaur into his car). Yet more people are used to the newer opening. So that arguement doesn't sit well with me...

Muppet Show DVD season box sets announced

I could see a number of possibilities 1. They release the inital "best of" DVD's, not thinking there will be a market for the full season sets. The sales of the "best of" leads them to think otherwise. 2. They use it as a "test" to see how many fans are buying the DVD's to see if they can...

    Cher & Sweetums

Very cool. I'm going to see Cher next month. Now I have something else to look foward to in the show.

    Playhouse Muppet Videos

Basically they are compilation videos of the best songs and sketches on TMS done in various themes. They have bumpers between segments with various Muppets, and usually follow some kind of theme. For Example, Muppet Revue has Fozzie and Kermit cleaning out the attic and they come across...

    Ernie counts fruit(1987)

Actually, there's a little more to it than that. Ernie has a bowl of fruit and is counting each type of fruit in the bowl. Bert is next to him sorting his paperclip collection, and is getting annoyed at Ernie's counting, because he can't concentrate. Bert says he'll wait until Ernie finishes...

Looking for a hard to find song

It's also available on CD. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000002BBC/qid=1108584206/sr=1-16/ref=sr_1_16/002-8627127-2698416?v=glance&s=music

    Grover and Kermit The Frog

I always loved when Grover would run up to Kermit yelling "HEEEEYYYY FROGGY BABY!!!!!!" and then slap him hard on the back causing Kermit to double over. When we were kids, we would do that to each other all the time.

    Nigel

I believe Jim did Nigel's voice in at least some sketches. I know he did for "Sax & Violence" with Zoot. Not sure if it was always him.

    Ernie and Bert go fishing

I believe it was a shark who jumped in last, and after saying "You called?" starts laughing like Ernie. Bert then predictably faints. Very funny clip. I don't think I have it but I remember it vividly.

    Bear on Patrol

I believe it went like this: "And now, ridding the world of evil, here comes Bear On Patrol" Not sure about Fairyland PD

    Desert island clip

I couldn't pick just one, but if I could pick a particular theme, I would want all the Ernie & Bert sketchs, as they were always my favorites. If I had to pick just one, I suppose it would be the pot on the head sketch, where Ernie broke the cookie jar and had to use all those things for...

Mahna Mahna on Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper commercial

Yeah, it went something like this. Sandra was a psychiatrist, and Kermit came in for a session. He said he sees these weird creatures whenever he says the word "Phenomena". The Snowths then pop up to do the "do-do-do-do-do". Then Sandra gets into the act and starts channelling Manha Manha...

    Muppet Monsters

The monsters themselves didn't scare me. Only when they were eating another Muppet did I get scared.

Mahna Mahna on Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper commercial

They did something similar to that on Muppets Tonight with Sandra Bullock. They used the word "pheonomena" (sp?)

Did Bert and Ernie ever bathe together?

Me too. I can respect someone's beliefs as long as they respect mine. He was? I didn't know that.

    Same names, different characters

I don't know if this would count, but there was a sketch on Sesame Street where Kermit was getting a T-Shirt printed, and they kept spelling his name wrong(Kermit the Forg, Kermit the Grof, Kermit the Gorf) but each time, a monster by that same name would show up to pick up his T-shirt. So...

Grown ups telling us fairy tales

This also appeared on one of the Sesame Street albums(I forget which one) where Herb was the narrator, and Oscar played the genie. And the 3 wishes were for a plate, a box and then the truck. And it was all done in rhyme.
