How Much of Classic Sesame Street was Unscripted?

That's a good question. I suppose only the actors and puppeteers know the real answer to that question. But I've always suspected that a lot of the stuff we saw back then had some improvising involved, even the muppet sketches. You'll notice back then they usually got them in one continuous...

    Favorite animal moments

I almost forgot when the band did "Rockin Robin" in the tree, Animal would keep yelling "TWEET TWEET!!!" towards the end of the song. That was hilarious.

In TMTM, when Kermit is giving his bows at the beginning of the movie. Kermit: Some of us are graduating with honors..... Animal: (Chasing student up the aisle) WOMAN, WOMAN, WOMAN!!!!! Kermit: Some of us with the help of daily psychological counselling.

Unless it was removed, it should be on YouTube.

    Muppet Film and TV References

Last night on WWE Smackdown, King Booker was reviewing Kane's movie "See No Evil", making fun of it, saying he's been more scared watching the Muppets.

    Muppet Film and TV References

This past week on Naked News Daily Male(which airs on OutTV here in Canada, so technically this counts), during their blooper segment, one of the anchors was reciting a nursury rhyme(I think it was Mary Had a Little Lamb), and he messed up at the end(either on purpose or not), and he started...

    Classic Sesame Clips on YouTube

Thanks. I knew it must have been some cultural reference from that time period. I wonder why they would have used such a reference since kids probably wouldn't have gotten the joke.

    The First Day of School

I believe that was posted on YouTube some time ago. I don't know if it's still there or not.

    Classic Sesame Clips on YouTube

OK, I saw this the other day, and maybe I'm stupid, but I don't get the joke at the end where Ernie says the box only makes A's on sunshine(or something like that). Was this a cultural reference from that time period?

    What's My Part audio releases

If memory serves me correctly, the audio was the same and the same punchline was used. I seem to recall listening to it on the record and didn't quite get the joke, because I had never seen the televised version until recently on YouTube.

What SST toys did YOU have as a kid?

I had dozens of Sesame Street records, but I can't recall which ones I had. I also had the 123 Sesame Street Fisher Price playset(the same one mentioned above) with the same figures. I also had the Sesame Street Fisher Price Clubhouse which I suppose was a complement to the 123 set...

    Alaina Reed on ER

It's a bit late to be posting this, but Alaina Reed (Olivia from Sesame Street) was on ER last night. Very small role, but it was cool to see she's still working.

    Your Thoughts On "Muppets Tonight!"

While I don't think anything can measure up to the original Muppet Show, Muppets Tonight was pretty good. It had some very funny moments. I especially liked the Garth Brooks episode where he kept wanting to do anything but a country song.

    Another MuppetFest?

I too only found out about Muppetfest long after the fact. While I probably wouldn't have been able to afford to go, it would have been nice to be aware of it so I could at least make the effort to save up the money to go. If they do hold another one, I hope they'll be able to get all three...

    12 Days of Christmas

I love this version of the 12 Days of Christmas. Especially Piggy's part when she adds the 'ba-dum-dum-dum'.

Has anyone actually ever seen 'A Special Sesame Street Christmas'?

Well, I finally got around to watching this last night, and honestly didn't think it was that bad. Definitely not as good as Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, but OK. Definitely could have used some more of the other Muppet characters.

    Gonzo and Rizzo

Good question. I guess when they decided to use Gonzo as the narrator(Charles Dickens), they thought he needed someone to play off of, and Rizzo was chosen. Although I suspect that the idea to pair them together wasn't intended to be an ongoing thing. But they had such great chemistry...

Muppet Family Christmas on TV this year

Possibly, but I could almost swear it aired here in Canada a few years ago, after the split, but I could be wrong. It may be a situation where the networks bought the rights to air the special for a specific number of years and it just ran out and they haven't bothered renewing the license...
