New Sesame Street documentary based on "Street Gang" to premiere in April 2021

No theater around me even has listings that far ahead, so I don't think you can judge that just yet.

    Little things we've noticed

It's the one used here; I can't tell if they're repurposing an old head or not.

Could Sesame Street possibly leave PBS in the future?

They've been getting Sesame for free basically from HBO, so if it costs them virtually nothing to air it, why take it off?

Cerf was involved with books and merchandise at the time.

Sesame Street Season 51 Episode 5120 - Potluck Pickle

Yeah, it felt kinda redundant to have both the street story and Foodie Truck be the same sort of thing. I got a chuckle out of Abby doing the whole "person who works at food source" shtick. And a little spotlight for Bert is nice. That Steph/Ashley Curry thing was so directionless. It really...

    The Muppet Mindset

(Preface: I don't know any real details regarding the merger despite being a part of TP). They use WordPress with no custom domain name, so I don't think money is/was the issue. I think the problem (not for us, but for the owners) of the Mindset was the commitment to having something published...

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

Both outfits are vaguely magician-like, so it could be either one. He also claimed he once performed the original Elmo, so his memories aren't 100% iron clad.

    Classic Sesame Clips on YouTube

I think the real reason is that there was no Muppet Wiki back then, so nobody was obsessing over minutia and minor characters. And also the bands appeared infrequently enough that nobody really cared.

Sesame Street Season 51 Episode 5118 - Rainy Day Play

I see that if a (new) street story doesn't center around Elmo, he's still going to be there to kick it off. Sheesh.

    Sesame Workshop/Shout! Factory Deal

The 50 Years DVD does look awful, because really you're looking at an SD version of something produced in HD. That said, the copies of certain bits on there are inexcusably bad.

    Sesame Workshop/Shout! Factory Deal

    Does it matter?

    Sesame Workshop/Shout! Factory Deal

You do realize that Sesame is the one producing the actual footage for the DVD, not Shout?

Why aren't Oscar and Telly ever on anymore?

I think the half-hour change also affects that. When you have an hour show that has 30+ two-minute pieces (and 100+ episodes), there's ample oppertunity for multiple characters to get their due. Now there's basically no niche outside the street story for characters other than Elmo, Abby, or Cookie.

Why aren't Oscar and Telly ever on anymore?

Three different performers were needed to take over for Brian's characters. That doesn't say "not diverse" to me.

Why aren't Oscar and Telly ever on anymore?

Was he? Telly was in virtually every episode from when Brian handled him until the half hour change. Even then, Telly was around with some frequency because I think Joey was championing for him. I don't expect him to get like his own storyline this season, and apparently he'll barely be around...

Muppet series and specials that belong on Disney+

MWOZ can be purchased on various sites (including the Disney-owned Movies Anywhere), so why it's not on D+ is strange to me. LTS too; maybe the fact that it was made for NBC has something to do with it? Those Disney Drive On webisodes should be there too. They got lost in the shuffle when...

    Questions about anything

I had a jury summons last January; I was there a number of hours and never got called to be screened. I got a check for $5 and apparently won't be called again for five years.

Does Sesame Street do parodies any more?

Well, by contrast, season 45 had 39 celebrity guest appearances across 26 episodes, whereas the current season only has 6 across 35 episodes.
