    Lefty the Salesman

I guess it was indeed intended to be another scam by Lefty, since he laughs mischievously after Ernie gives him a nickel for the picture. So probably Lefty was just counting on Ernie being feeble minded enough to not notice the elephants, whereas most people and muppets would be able to.

Happy 80th to Dick Van Dyke!

I like your characterization of Dick. A concise way to describe him in a nutshell and really says it all. :)

The 3 Muppets And The Lemonade

I mentioned this one back in June in a thread of mine about anything muppets. See post#10.

    Lefty the Salesman

You know how Lefty always tried to scam Ernie? Like trying to sell him an "invisible" ice cream cone. Or an empty box (to catch jellybeans from the sky!). Or air from a bottle (Lefty could have at least thrown in the empty bottle too. Not like it's worth anything!). Or simply a number (8) or...

How's the weather where you are?

Heh heh redboobergurl, it goes to show perspective depending on location again. Here in Philly it is in the 20's today (the coldest day so far and it will be warming up to the 40's for about a week starting Thursday). So at work today everyone kept complaining how freezing it is outside. And yet...

    Your Favorite Jokes

A family member emailed this one to me today: This may come as a surprise to those of you not living in Las Vegas, but there are more Catholic churches there than casinos. Not surprisingly, some worshipers at Sunday services will give casino chips rather than cash when the basket is...

How's the weather where you are?

No precipitation but a cold 27 today with a windchill of 17. This Thursday could be a wintry mix of precipitation in the afternoon but then supposed to warm up and change over to all rain.

Happy 80th to Dick Van Dyke!

And speaking of Morey Amsterdam, just read that his birthday is tomorrow. He died back in '96 though at age 87. He was in the tv special "The Muppets Go Hollywood".

Happy 80th to Dick Van Dyke!

Happy birthday, DVD! Hey, I wonder if the DVD show is on DVD? heh heh The Dick Van Dyke show was never quite as appealing to me as my favorite classics such as "Andy Griffith", "Green Acres" and "I Love Lucy". But it was a good show. Loved Rob Petri's nasal voice and energetic antics. Also...

    Little Bird info

I remember the "Pick your pet" skit quite well. If that bird was supposed to be Little Bird (it certainly had the look and size of Little Bird) the voice sounded different in the skit (like a man's voice instead). And if the girl contestant was Betty Lou then perhaps that adds further...

    Questions on Prarie Dawn

Thanks for the added details, fuzzygobo. That last line, "Something had to change!" certainly would fit better than, "This is dramatic shape!" And I'm not sure either if it may have been Betty Lou instead of Prairie Dawn. Hard to say since they both look and sound the same and were both around...

    Am I the only one?

Well for number 4 that's just it. I would rather plan to spend a week off at home and relax and not have to do any traveling or driving ,then to plan to spend a week in Florida or something. But if I had more generous amounts of vacation during the year I could do both. But with just 2 weeks...

The Square And The Triangle Skit

Yes, it's detailed by Sesame Mike in post #4 there. I briefly alluded to it back in April at the "Your favorite cartoons on Sesame Street thread":

    Am I the only one?

What the?? A double post of the same thing? How did I do that? I thought if you click on submit after having already done so it will let you know it has already been submitted. Then again, I think I have seen others double post once in a while. I guess maybe if you accidentally hit submit a...

    Am I the only one?

Am I the only one: (1) who has seen "Dominick and Eugene", a masterful drama from 1988? (my ex-fiance and some of my family have seen it, but only because I brought it to their attention) (2) who drinks Welch's grape juice every day? (3) who never drinks soda or milk? (4) whose favorite...

TMS Season 1 Amazon Sales Rank

And now several months later I think it's very impressive that The Muppet Show season one is currently ranked # 32 on amazon's list. When you consider that a lot of new tv show dvds are ranked in the hundreds or even thousands, for TMS to be at 32 now is really remarkable and gratifying. :)

    My true love unleashed...

Well it was just because the article mentions her being on the Squares in '99 and I know I watched it a lot around '98 through '00. So I figure I must have seen her on that show but just didn't have a clue as to who she was. That's not a slam on her, I just am not familiar with her is all. But...

    My true love unleashed...

Oh. Sorry if you posted about doing that before and I didn't see it. Good job on the article too. Very well written. And I probably saw her on "The Hollywood Squares" back in '99 without knowing who she was because I used to catch it quite a bit back then. I remember some of the other regulars...
