You know... I'm liking Aurora. Maybe it's because I naturally like female characters better. Or maybe it's because I'm enjoying a character influenced by Cruella, since people say my mom looks sort of like the real thing (Glen Close). And I thought you wrote Mr. Lords with the fright amount of creepyness, kind of resembling Calub Siles from Muppet Musicians of Bremen.
I looked up Caleb Siles on Muppet Wiki and he is exactly how I envisioned Mr. Lords! I think I kind of like Aurora better too, if only because I want to give her a more centralized part that Mr. Lords. In the first story, Mr. Lords only appeared in seven scenes, which I guess is okay, but to me it felt like he was relegated to cameo status. Also, the Aurora scenes are more fun to write than the Chamberlain/Lindy scenes. I love Lindy and he's very easy to write for, but his scenes are like the "A Story" and Aurora's scenes are the "B Story" and I have to balance them equally which is proving to be very hard.

I will very much try to have new chapters ASAP. This weekend has been crazy so far, but I certainly haven't forgotten about CV!

Part 9

Chamberlain, Lindy, Kirk, and Amber finally arrived to their hotel in Hollywood: The Hotel Veronique. The lobby was so big, you could fit two football stadiums in it and still have room left over. The quartet walked over to the front desk to get their room. They were greeted by a chipper, blonde receptionist with quite possibly the whitest teeth ever.

"Welcome to the Hotel Veronique; do you have a reservation?" asked the receptionist.

"Ah, yes, it should be under the name ‘Harrison’" replied Chamberlain.

The receptionist tapped away on her computer and, a few seconds later, said "Of course: Lindy the Penguin! We’ve been expecting you, little fella. We reserved the whole 38th floor (that’s the Barrymore Suite) for you."

"‘Barrymore’? Drew’s sharing a room with us?" asked Lindy, ecstatic.

The receptionist chuckled and said "No, it’s named after her grandfather, acting legend Lionel Barrymore".

"Aw, shucks." said Lindy, disappointed.

"I’m sure it’ll still be lovely, pal" reassured Chamberlain.

The receptionist handed Chamberlain the keys and said "We hope you enjoy your stay, everybody."

"‘We’? What, does she have an invisible friend?" whispered Lindy to Chamberlain.

Awkwardly, Chamberlain thanked the receptionist and the four walked over and into the elevator. As they briskly coasted up to the 38th floor, they could see Rodeo Drive, the Dolce and Gabana store- even the famed Hollywood sign itself! Finally the doors opened and they stepped into the Barrymore Suite. The size of the lobby paled in comparison to the Barrymore Suite. In just one floor, it had it all: a pool, weight room, arcade, gift shop, longue/bar area, and a spa.

Lindy just stood there for a few moments, taking it all in. Then his silence was broken by a deafening "I’m home!" He ran around yelling, jumping on beds and carrying on. After all the hardships he had suffered in the past, this was the moment that made Lindy think that his life must not be so awful after all.

Part 10

Aurora, Fozzie, Lightning, and Jasper took a brief hiatus on their quest to Hollywood to stop at a quaint little antique store called Taffy’s Treasures. As they went inside, Taffy, a small elderly woman with a neat gray bun and slightly stooped shoulders, puttered across the store to speak to Aurora.

"Pardon me, ma’am," said Taffy in a small voice, "but dogs are not allowed in here" regarding Jasper’s disguise. "Please take him outside." she continued.

"Well, seeing as you’re the only one between the two of us who seems to remotely care, and seeing as this is your store, why don’t you take him outside while I browse?" said Aurora.

"Oh, okay" said Taffy as she took Jasper’s leash from Aurora.
"Come on, pup." she said to Jasper as he did his best little dog trot. They went outside.

"What a simp that woman is" chuckled Aurora. "Didn’t she realize I also had a bear and a calf with me? But no matter; she fell right into my trap and I see just what I need." Aurora picked up a glass-blown platypus and studied it, saying "Fascinating creature, the platypus. Odd-looking, unsuspecting, but packs just enough punch to kill a small child." She then closed her eyes and mumbled some foreign words under her breath, which caused the glass platypus to fill up with red smoke.

Aurora opened her eyes and waited for the smoke to clear, slightly. She then peered inside and saw Lindy in his hotel room talking to Mr. Doyle on the phone. "Yeah, I’m staying in a very nice hotel: the Veronique, in the Barrymore Suite. Oh, you must come see it, Mr. Doyle" jabbered Lindy.

"I believe we’ll take his invitation as well, boys" said Aurora., who slid the platypus into her purse and took a piece of paper out of her purse, not knowing it was her business card with all her personal information on it. "Fozzie, if you would, write ‘Platypus: Paid in full’ on this card and put it on Taffy’s desk."

Instead of writing what Aurora told him to, Fozzie wrote "I stole the platypus!" on the card and casually walked away. Aurora, Fozzie, and Lightning then walked out of the store to retrieve Jasper from Taffy.

I haven't really been reading the fan fiction much lately. In fact it's been awhile since I last worked on any of my own.

But I made a special effort to read this Brian and it's looking very good. Congratulations.

Um... Is there more of this story to tell? If so, please do post. Thanks.
