I’ve seen a Facebook movement to boycot using YouTube from the tenth to thirteenth. Not sure if that would do any good, and I’m not really sure of all that’s suggested (so don’t use YouTube at all, even if you’re not using it to watch anything? Just don’t watch anything there? Just don’t upload anything new on those days?).

It’s not going to work. There’s always a boycott YouTube when there’s a new update that no one asked for coming in.

True dat. I still remember participating in that YouTube blackout alllll the way back in 2009 when we were boycotting them over those Beta Channels that nobody liked. :smirk:

To be fair, when YouTube first launched in 2005, it was never intended to be a site for kids. Now, there are tons of videos designed for kids, and not just "Sesame Street" clips. There are also clips for various cartoons designed for kids too, though many of them are on YouTube for a short time.

These new policies are driving many users away from YouTube and may eventually take their business to Dailymotion in the weeks to come.

Well, YouTube itself is finally addressing all these FTC/COPPA issues:

Notice there's still one question that remains unanswered: can and will YouTube fine you up to $42,000 per video their algorithms detect are mislabeled?
