Now what's going on with YouTube?

I'm having trouble processing this whole thing...like, I'm in such a pickle about how my channel is going to be affected. My Sesame videos are the bulk of uploads on my main channel, so I guess I'd have to make them for kids to keep my channel alive. However, I have tons of game show episodes that, despite being monetized by their copyright owner and are somewhat okay on YT, are doing pretty well. I most certainly don't want to make them for kids, cause technically they're for all ages.

That's why this is such a gray area. They're considering any and everything that may even remotely possibly be appealing to kids as being "kid-friendly," whether it's specifically targeted at kids or not. Just about all of my content would have to be labeled as "made for kids" because according to their new guidelines, they are: the majority of my videos are puppetry, and as we all know the stigma, "puppets are for kids," so that will have to be labeled "made for kids"; likewise, the guidelines stipulate that videos including toys that kids would play with are "made for kids," so since MORON LEAGUE uses figures of the Nerdlucks from SPACE JAM, they'd have to be labeled "made for kids" too.

But again, I never made any of my original content specifically for kids, or specifically for adults, that's why this is so hurtful to many YouTubers.

This is Karen the SJW mom.

Karen the SJW mom has a kid that she never watches.

Karen the SJW mom lets her kid do whatever he (yes, her child is a boy) wants, until she finds her son looking at innapropriate videos on YouTube.

Karen the SJW mom complains to YouTube about inappropriate content because her pampered son with an iPhone X was looking up videos not appropriate for his age. YouTube then complied as they completely forgot there’s a site known as YouTube kids.

Karen the SJW mom is an idiot who didn’t do her homework before having a kid.

Don’t be like Karen the SJW mom.

To be fair, I can agree that YouTube's system needed some tweaking . . . I remember years and years ago watching a ROCKO'S MODERN LIFE video on YouTube - just a random clip, nothing pertaining to any of the adult jokes, innuendoes, or those deleted scenes that were deemed too inappropriate, or anything; just a random clip. In the recommended on that video were videos of ****** commercials. I remember commenting on that, pointing out how bizarre it was that a Rocko video would have bunches of ****** videos recommended alongside it, of which the uploaded responded was probably a reflection of his/her own viewing habits.

And it did work, actually. Since my channel's been doing so poorly since 2013, sometimes on certain videos, I would often click on certain videos of mine afterwards to get them to show up in the other videos' recommended . . . and it actually worked for a while . . . not sure if it actually did me or my channel any favors, but it worked.

Oh, and how often do you watch a video about anything under the sun, and there's always a bunch of FAMILY GUY clips recommended alongside it, even if it has absolutely nothing to do with FG?

EDIT: Sorry. I had no idea that c0nd0m was now a filtered word on MC.

I can't even find the "audience" feature on my YouTube channel. I want to just make all my vids "kid friendly" in one go but I cannot seem to access this feature. It's such a headache, I may just delete it all

You should be able to select all your videos page by page and set them all to kid friendly in YouTube studio.

It's in the settings on the left (gear icon) --> Channel --> Advanced Settings tab

Snowth nailed it: the key word is gray. Everything is so gray that I'll be surprised if it goes through.

The internet is such a wild west that I don't even see why YT is being singled out: porn is just as accessible to a child as anything nowadays.
