It did fit the Word on the Street lesson pretty well, but recycling clips that way still feels like a cop-out to me.To answer your questions about unknown segments...
"What is Rhythm" is the old door-slamming, egg-smashing bit with a new voice-over added.
Sounds as if the producers have a series of clips in mind, all right: a modern sequel to the "Typewriter Guy" cartoons, but not quite as funny. :-|Drtooth said:Then, the H for Ham with 25 left to go was some guy sitting at a laptop trying to write. He prints out a letter H. The "25 left" means he has to write for all 26 letters, apparently.
Agreed; the way Curly tried EVERYTHING to reach the cake, and the way Telly tried EVERYTHING to stop her are hard-to-fake situations. It takes someone who's actually planned the Birthday Party Gone Wrong, to write about it that well.Drtooth said:But I really enjoyed the main storyline. Baby Bear upset his cake would be ruined. And Curly Bear running around, almost ruining it. And Telly smashed everything possible. This HAD to have been inspired by a writer's first hand account of a child's birthday party. Either it happened to his/her kid, or someone else's... that's something you just don't make up.
Since they're bringing Murray into a class full of real kids each time, having him join the class activities makes sense. And that means yes, Murray's probably got replacement hands made specifically for the school clips; Cookie Monster doesn't, since fake cookies work out cheaper in the long run.DrTooth said:And The Murray segment once again was cute. Though I wonder... do they have a hundred extra Murray hands lying around? They're doing things they don't usually let a Muppet do... washing hands with real water... touching dough... they can't even let Cookie eat real cookies as it might damage the puppet. I like it. It gives it even more realism.
Drtooth said:The only complaint is that they NEED to make new skits with higher numbers. If I see those kids paint another mural, I'll SCREAM!
Absolutely; the mural films were cute for the first couple of seasons, but by now they've become deadly dull. Whoever did that rhyming "17" cartoon from last season--I hope they get hired for more high-number clips, since that was funny and memorable.
