Politics hits Sesame Street.
At least they didn't try to force votes on us or try and explain each political party's viewpoint! If they had done that, SW would've needed a good smack upside the head.

Darn it, I missed #4169 today...ironically, because I'd given up hope of seeing anything new for the rest of the month. Sounds like a decent episode, though; it's a good thing there are two PBS stations in Madison, and that one usually repeats the previous day's Sesame Street. I'll add my own impressions after watching it tomorrow!

Crap. I missed a new episode. My local station is still airing repeats. (Though according to the station's website, they say that the episode that begins the new season will start on October 5th. Maybe from there they'll go in order and air the ones that haven't been aired yet.) Maybe someone could put the new eps on You Tube like they did with the Max the Magician episode. Of course if that happened, Sesame Workshop might delete those anyway. But I thought I'd make that suggestion.

I taped the episode this morning and here are my thoughts:

The Goods:
-The was a cute story line, espceially when Telly came into it. I loved Elmo and Zoe bribing Telly with the fancy new ways of singing. And since election time is near, what a great episode to teach kids about voting. I'm loving all the Telly episodes we've been getting.
-The skit with LL Cool J was cute. I like seeing Oscar in things.
-Being of Irish decent, the Murray segment was quite enjoyible. I liked when he accidentally kicked himself in the face. What with Global Grover appearing not so often, we need more segments that show other countries culture.
-I liked seeing the Ernie song. It's nice to see the puppets of E&B appearing, especially since the animated ones came.
-The Letter A's voice cracked me up in the Elmo/Zoe intro.
-I liked the limbo version of the theme at the end.

The Bads:
-Wriggle Like an Octopus: Why, just why?
-While I like the A's Anatomy sketch, I would rather of seen something else, like a different Grover sketch

Dang, I missed it.

I mean I was originally going to see it, but I thought it was another contest between Zoe and Elmo, and Telly was their tie-breaker.

Man, I can't believe I miss even :grouchy: commenting on LL cool J.

To Answer your questions about unknown segments...

What is Rhythm is the old Dorr slamming, egg smashing bit with a new voice over added.

The "what comes nest" bit was (and this is pretty hard to explain) 2 abstract shaped creatures, one shaped like Pac-Man Blobs, the other like wizard hats with bends in the points looking at some glowing, vibrating keyboard in a cyber space sort of environment. And they made sounds when they stood on the k\eyboard.

then, the H for Ham with 25 left to go was some guy sitting at laptop trying to write. he prints out a letter H. the 25 left, means he has to write for all 26 letters, apparently.

But I really enjoyed the main storyline. Baby bear upset his cake would be ruined. And Curly Bear running around, almost ruining it. And Telly smashed everything possible. This HAD to have been inspired by a writer's first hand account of a child's birthday party. Either it happened to his/her kid, or someone else's... that's something you just don't make up.

Kind of disappointed they just used a reused film from the 90's with a voice over instead of a celebrity word on the street instead.

And The Murray segment once again was cute. Though I wonder... do they have a hundred extra Murray hands lying around? they're doing things they don't usually let a muppet do... washing hands with real water... touching dough... they can't even let Cookie eat real cookies as it might damage the puppet. I like it. It gives it even more realism.

The only complaint is that they NEED to make new skits with higher numbers. If I see those kids paint another mural, I'll SCREAM!

I must say I did enjoy the Street story today as it shows just how much Telly is a good friend to Baby Bear and vice versa.

Loved episode 4170! Love the street story, the little lamb segment and Ernie and Bert's adventure, Didn't quote care to muhc for the filler material but love how the introduction for the letter and number of and the ending were intertwined with the main story of the episode!
