I don't know if I said this before, but one time I was watching SS, and they showed the episode's production title card (station Identification, used primarily to identify the episodes, if you're working at a TV station). It creeped me out, indeed. It also mentioned "Cold opening" and There was no mention of Cold in the opening sequence. of course, now I know that basically means the stuff they put on before the theme song.
Technically, a "cold opening" involves jumping straight into the show (at least partially) before the theme song/opening titles; for Sesame Street, that used to mean going partly into the first street scene.
