So for how long can you copyright something at a time then?
For the duration of the creator's life, plus an additional 70 years. Unless the copyright is renewed, what you created goes PD after the 70 years is up. If you have someone else create the work for you, the limit is 95 years from the date of publication or 120 years from the date of creation. But it depends on which of the two expires first.

Disney already owns enough. They need to focus on what they already own.

(I wonder how long a character can go unused before the trademark expires).
If they are unused and/or the creator doesn't fight to retain exclusivity on said product/character/phrase for a period of five years in most jurisdictions (I think).

They do not need to buy anything else. It seems as if almost everything they touch of someone else's goes downhill for the worst. Don't touch anything!

We don't have to speculate what they're gonna buy next, we all know Disney will own half of the planet by 2040.

Yeah. Top rated Marvel Movies, 3 high rated cartoon shows based on Marvel properties. Things have never looked worse for them. :coy:

Need I make a joke about how Lucas already ruined Star Wars when he still owned it?
