Show of hands, how many people still here on MC besides Mikaela remember KGZ, my old (pseudo-official) fan site that was dedicated to Kathy Greenwood? Well, as of this date, KGZ is now completely dead and offline. I received an email from the host back in the fall saying that they had actually been bought out by VistaPrint several years back, and were spending all of this time dissolving their old host and migrating everything over to VistaPrint's server. Now, people who had websites that were being hosted with Webs had two choices: if they had premium accounts and had paid-for websites being hosted, they could migrate everything over to VistaPrint without any disruption to their accounts or their websites; if they had free accounts and free websites being hosted, they either had to pay a fee and purchase a VistaPrint account to continue with their services, or they just had to let their accounts and websites die.
Since it honestly hasn't been such a high priority for me in years, and considering the world of social media has made it easy for fans to follow and stay in the loop of what celebrities and entertainers are doing, I really saw no necessity to continue, so I chose to let KGZ die.
Looking back on it, my memories of KGZ are actually rather bittersweet . . . I mean, it was my first time creating and maintaining a website, and from that perspective, I loved it: I loved learning about whatever new shows or projects Kathy was involved in and then updating the website to share that information, and I especially loved how I was able to evolve the site over the years as I figured out better and more eye-catching layouts and such, as you can see here:
On the other hand, I don't have pleasant memories of how I made so many enemies with this website, and how I ended up having an entire fandom (Whose Line) basically turn on and ostracize me because I was so immature and weak-willed that I couldn't handle the fandom's constant and incessent criticism of Kathy Greenwood (I mean no fooling, she was almost like a Scrappy to the entire fandom, and it just ****** me off that everybody always talked **** about her tha tI would always overract and blow up over their constant criticism).
On another note, I've also self-published some fanfics over the years through Webs, such as a collection of Alvin and The Chipmunks fanfics, which will now be lost to time as well because of this.
