and analeisa, i tend to believe all bullies are jerks [like Richard] but i take the sarcastic approach [which doesn't win many friends, but at least it gives me a change to fight back in a way... or hit, luckily it's never gotten that far]
Late but... that's pretty much the truth about bullies. Also, yeah: the sarcastic way doesn't work with friend issues. Those can be so complicated that I haven't figured them out.

The thing was, on his end it was 1980 or 1981, and on my end it was 2010. Talk about a real bend in the space-time continuum.
Haha, for real. That sounds like quite the awesome dream though.

I had a similar dream not too long ago. I spent the whole time haning out/having fun with Richard. He eventually had to go back to work (I was going to a place that would lead into a different dream :stick_out_tongue:) and he said "Don't worry too much about me after I leave, kid. You have to take care of yourself."

Hmm...Time travel, eh? *starts prancing around room playing a toy guitar and singing*

One day when I came home at lunchtime,
I heard a funny noise.
Went out to Muppet Labs to find out if it was,
One of those experiments.
Stood there was Bunsen and Beaker,
And a Flux Capacitor.

They told me they built a time machine.
Like one in a film I've seen,
Yeah... he said...

I've been to the 1980's
A lot has changed but it's making a comeback
And the Muppeteer Richard Hunt,
Is very hawt. (very hawt)

He took me to the 80's in the flux thing, and I saw everything.
Boy bands, and fraggles and Pac Man ... and "Where's the beef?"!
Girls there with crimped hair like poodles sure look so weird.

We drove around in a time machine,
Like the one in the film I've seen..
Yeah...

I've been to the 1980's
A lot has changed but it's making a comeback
And the Muppeteer Richard Hunt,
Is very hawt. (very hawt)

I took a trip to the 1980's
The Mayhem had gone multi-platinum.
Everybody bought their 7th album.
It had outsold Solid Foam.
I took a trip to the 1980's.
The Mayhem had gone multi-platinum.
Everybody bought thier 7th album, 7th album, 7th album.

they told me they built a time machine.
Like the one in a film I've seen,
Yeah...

I've been to the 1980's
A lot has changed but it's making a comeback
And the Muppeteer Richard Hunt,
Is very hawt. (very hawt)

*repeat chorus until fade*

Yeah, I suppose he would - it sounds like he only does that for people he really likes.

In another thread, they're talking about Jerry Nelson's new studio album, "Truro Daydreams." I haven't heard the whole thing yet, but it sounds like Richard and Jim and a few others get referenced in one of the songs - "Eye of the Storm."

i heard that too. Jerry apparently wrote about people who had died in one of his songs. i REALLY want that CD, but i don't have a credit card and my mom doesn't like ordering things online. i hope it'll be releaced in stores, cuz i want the cd [not just one song] the cover art is really pretty, his wife painted it if memory serves me. from what i've heard and seen, it seems very beautiful. i'll look for a link to an interview with him... i think it's on the jerry nelson forum [makes sence it'd be there]

edit: just went to the site, where it's being sold [i love the song Tides] and checked out 'Eye of The Storm' and the soundclip you can hear goes 'hey Rich, ain't life a b*tch? he said, aw jer, they knocked me in the ditch. just that one time, is that such a crime?' [Chorus] 'hey Jim, the futures lookin grim. he said, future past it's all the same.'

here's the site, if anyone wants it http://www.digstation.com/AlbumDetails.aspx?albumID=ALB000040517

Yeah, that sounds kinda like something Richard would say. The whole tune really rocks along...I guess Jerry knew that a sad song wasn't the best way to honor his friends:

"Hey, pick up the tempo, will ya? I want a dirge you can dance to!"

:excited: A funeral dirge...
:smirk: You can dance to?
Red: I think we're homeward bound!
Gobo: All we have to do is...
*Both: Pick up the tempo!

Great scene - the whole episode's got great lines in it:

"Looks like they're having an argument!"
"Argument, nothing, it's an attempted coup!"

Yess, that episode of Fraggle Rock is awesome. Jerry Nelson's whole album is awesome too. It amazes me that he can still sing so well even though he's been on oxygen since 06.

But back to Richard: I really wanted to ask if anyone has seen this interview before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWWd3tMwqAk

The video is from 1991 and Scooter and Gonzo are promoting Muppet Vision 3D. Richard makes good jokes but you can tell Scooter's voice is off. So, it's bittersweet.

Cool tape, analeisa, thanks for linking it here!

It's a miracle that Miss Piggy didn't barge in there and karate chop the three of them.

But, yeah - Richard's still delivering the jokes, but his voice is a little bit off in that. Maybe that was his last appearance as Scooter...I wonder when exactly he got sick enough to have to hang up his puppets for good.

Liked the quips about the Ninja Turtles: "That's probably in the swamp out back." And then they start asking the host if he's delirious or something.
