Wow - these last several months haven't been going great for you, Sara. Just remember that we're all here to chat and for you to let off steam.

And heralde - of course Scooter wouldn't like having to mind the little Muppet Monsters. They are cute characters, and Scooter, being one of Richard's characters, wouldn't be terribly fond of cute. And by cute, I mean saccharine and treacly cute. Not at all in keeping with the barely controlled mayhem of the Muppet Theater.

Yeah it's the same relationship Scooter has with Bean Bunny and Robin. The older kid getting annoyed with the cute attention grabbing babies. It's too bad they weren't able to focus on that more, it would have been an interesting storyline!

Hmm...wonder how Scooter would react to Elmo...

Anyone else feel slightly intimidated when Scooter said, "Get back in that basement!" because I sure did! Lol (shades of King Richard the Perfectly Terrible, hehe.) I felt kinda bad for the monsters at that point, lol.

But on the other hand, they each had a verse in "Just One Person," so maybe they can tolerate each other that much. But anyway...it's true, in later years, Scooter certainly takes on a role similar to Kermit - he's sort of charged with keeping order when the frog is absent.

And you know, by the late 1980s, Richard had added director and production consultant to his resume, so maybe art was imitating life. I get the impression that when Ghost of Faffner Hall was in production in England, Richard sort of acted as Jim's eyes and ears sometimes.

well, she ain't totaled yet. It'll probably be another week or so, if not longer. I need to go and check once more to make sure I got everything important out of her.

Well, the lady's insurance footed the bill completely for a rental car, until I can buy a new one. Which means I could possibly "rent" a 2007 PT Cruiser until I get another car for a few months.

I honestly don't mind that, but wow; this car is above and beyond what I seriously thought I'd get for a rental. Apperently they don't do older cars for rentals anymore. At least not at the chain rental places. And the only way you can tell it's a rental, is there's a tiny little "e" sticker in one corner on the back of it. It's from Enterprise, so that makes sense. Frankly I think it's definately in taste for such a tiny identifying sticker.

Also, I can easily show at least one picture of what happened to me due to the accident. As it is my breast (it's tastefully covered however), you may or may not want to click, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Ouch...I'll take your word for it.

I've been in only one accident - I was 18, in my senior year of high school, and I was on my way to school one rainy Tuesday morning in March when my little blue Toyota got rammed at an intersection by a green Ford - driver lost control of the clutch as I was passing. No one was hurt, thank heavens, but I don't envy the rap sheet that the other driver got from the police.

Hehe, yeah, sorry Richard! Btw, just read an interview with Frank Oz about the current state of Sesame Street. Personally, I'm really glad he said what he said.

The Robin Hood episode of The Muppet Show with Lynn Redgrave actually really showcases this. Not only does Scooter narrate the whole show, he's in charge of keeping things organized back stage (because Kermit's too busy playing Robin Hood). There are a few moments were Scooter is definitely channeling the frog, hehe. There's also a cute moment between Scooter and Floyd. Scooter asks Floyd for help backstage, but he's refusing to participate in such an unhip show ("Sorry Scoots!"). Scooter sounded very anxious, lol.

It all ends well of course and Scooter takes his bow saying, "Music by Scooter! Yes, I played all 30 instruments! Thank you to all the little people! Thank you, Uncle JP!"

Ugh, car accidents are never good; so far I've been lucky, knock wood.

I know he provided musical commentary on the archery match, but Scooter got to narrate all of the Robin Hood episode, and direct the backstage proceedings? Excellent! Now I really wish Buena Vista would hurry it up with season three.

Scooter certainly seems a good fit as Alan-a-Dale. He does a good job in the narrator roles, and I do like the mental image of him waltzing around Sherwood Forest with his lute. But Floyd telling the gofer/assistant director "Sorry Scoots..." Poor Scooter, Floyd won't hang out with him because he's now Kermit's right-hand man (Muppet).

And speaking of Scooter taking on some of Kermit's roles - I had a look at one of the screenshots, and the collar on Scooter's tunic looks rather like Kermit's collar. Hmm...

I really enjoyed that episode, definitely one of the funniest, the cavorting alone! Lol. Yeah Scooter's learning the tough realities of show business. He does sound pretty anxious when Floyd won't help him move the sceney. ("Oh no!")

Well, today I ended up very upset and disapointed. I won't get into it, just very frustrating.

I was going to wait until Christmas for Muppet Show Season 2, but since today was such a downer, I decided to purchase it early, lol. Hopefully that will improve the day a little.

I'll be away this weekend, but I should be back next and hopefully be able to share my comments on the DVD. Have a good weekend!

Oh and check out Tougpigs.com, there's a few pictures of Sesame Street from the '70s, at least one that definitely includes Richard (though it's not too big). Very cool! And I love the shot of Jim and Frank filming one of Bert and Ernie's nightime scenes. I always wondered how that looked!
