And hey, we're almost at 6,000 posts in this thread, too! That is very cool! I think Richard would be proud... or he would be having the most fun and joining in with us here.

My dad's been talking a lot recently about how much he loves peonies and how pretty he thinks they are. It's interesting, he's never mentioned that before. I always smile to myself every time he talks about it.

And heralde, that is such a cute sketch! I'd never seen it before. It's so sweet, I was giggling all the way through it! Thank you for posting it!

Almost like Dick Darring on The Replacements.

Hey guys, can't seem to sleep personally, so I've decided to get onto the computer and do some checking-up.

Seems we have a new member in our ranks! (Please forgive me, if you are not a new member. I really am like the worst Club Leader, as I'm hardly ever HERE. I do however try to keep abreast of all the going ons of the club.)

Thanks for joining us wwfpooh! Got a question that I try to remember to ask all the new members:

What's your favorite memory/song/character of/by Richard Hunt?

Great to have yet another Richard Hunt Lover amongst our ranks!

------------------

Sounds like such a form letter that above, dosn't it? It really isn't however as I just freaking typed that out on the fly. *laughs a bit* Wow, well tomorrow--later today actually (it's 2:19 am here, US Eastern Time Zone) we'll be picking up Pequena from the lady who's fostering her, and from there, we'll go inside Petsmart and pick up a harness, bed, and maybe a new bowl for her. (We've still got pratically everything Bridget had before, though I think she'll need a new bed.)

I probably should have said "We'll keep that little pink bed." instead of donating it to Project Pet. >_O

In the worry of getting Bridget to the Vet that horrible day, I forgot to pick up her bed or a blanket to tote her in. I realized to make it a bit easier to carry her (she was completely limp and nearly motionless by this time) I'd just use her carrier bag.

Well there came a time where I needed to set her down somewhere, and I couldn't stand to just leave her in the little purse-style carrier bag, she couldn't hold her head up. Well, I grabbed a small pink bed from a nearby display and gently laid her on it.

I guess I figured we'd be bringing her home that day, so in my mind; she needed a new bed, and the need was apperent....so the need was filled. I was so distraught once she was put down I just told 'em I didn't want the dang thing, just to give it to Project Pet, they could use it.

Oh well. The reason she needed a new bed was because the dryer keeps pulling the stuffing out of the "ring" around the small beds. The washer first got it soaking wet, and...well I'm not totally sure what happened, but the two of them together keeps just working on those beds to the point where they were pratically demolished.

Wait, those beds are over 3 and 4 years old. Those things actually have really lasted a freaking long time. Wow, maybe it is time to buy some new dog beds.

Sorry, I've completely gone on a long-winded ramble. But I'll have pictures and maybe a video or something for you guys in the next couple of days. Love you all!

Hugs and Kisses - Sara

Skye, that's a cute story! It IS interesting how suddenly we're all so aware of the peonies that populate our world, hehe.

Sara, my dog went through 5 or 6 different beds in her life because she's always tear them apart! We finally got her one that was like an army cot, but with a blanket on top. She loved that and it lasted for years! :sympathy:

Just wanted to let everyone know, I'm going on vacation this week, starting today, so I won't be around. Have a good week! And in the meantime...this is the cutest thing I've ever seen, lol.

Hi, everyone - I've been a little AWOL lately, due to the assorted stresses of that which we call life. And have fun en vacances, heralde - fill us in once you get back.

Let's see...favorite RH character is Scooter. As for favorite song/memory...hmm, I'm going to have to think about those two for a bit. There's way too many contenders.

And you guys are spot-on about the peonies; we definitely started paying more attention to them after Amanda mentioned that some of her uncle's ashes were scattered over them...and even more so when Richard mentioned that they were his favorite flower.

Had a Fraggle Rock moment this weekend: we were heading back from Mass this morning, and my mom (who was the organist this weekend) was saying that no one would fall asleep on her watch (meaning that her music wouldn't put people to sleep). And I chimed in with, "Hey, pick up the tempo, will ya? I like a dirge you can dance to!" That made her laugh, especially when I described the rest of "The Challenge."

My mom, like I said, has never really been a fan of FR, but I think I'm going to have to show her that episode.

...

:excited: A funeral dirge?
:smirk: You can dance to?
Red: I think we're homeward bound!
Gobo: All we have to do is...
Both: Pick up the tempo!

:sing:
But forget about your black.
Cause I'm planning to come back.
So play some honky tonk wailing grief and dixie wailin'.

Pick me up and lay me down.
And spread the news all over town.
And tell them all to come or they'll be sorry.
Pick me up and shake me twice.
I'm comin' back from paradise!
This poor boy was meant to live in glory.
