Yeah I didn't really understand Emmy's transcript on "Your face!" either until I saw the scene.

Nick: I knew she wouldn't marry that French clown.
Larry: Oh well you always know what she's gonna do.
Nick: No, I always know what she should do.
Larry: Like marry someone else?
Nick: That's a start.
Larry: Like some parking attendant in Las Vegas?
Nick: She could do worse.
Larry: ::laughs::
Nick: Romance, Lar. Romance...

In that scene, we find out Rob Lowe's character Nick is obsessed with this girl who's English royalty, Lady Victoria. He has several news clips about her in his locker. The latest one said it turned out she wasn't going to marry some foreign prince after all.

So Nick is all happy because he "knew" she wouldn't marry him. And Richard's character Larry teases him skeptically saying, "Oh well you always know what she's going to do!"

Then later...

Nick: Larry, Larry. I did it! Look at this. ::laughs:: I'm outta here.
Larry: Hold on. Hold on. ::Helps man with luggage::
Nick: ::Talks with woman about the money they won::
Larry: Nick, Nick, What happened?
Nick: You'll never believe. We won so... ::Reaches into pocket::
Larry: What's wrong?
Nick: I don't believe it! I don't believe it!

Nick had just been out with this wealthy divorcee and they went gambling (as they are in Las Vegas). They made a ton of money that they split between them. Nick told her it's his dream to attend Oxford, but he doesn't have enough money. As they are parting ways, she offers to give him her share of the winnings. But he says no, that wouldn't be fair. So she says she left a little surprise in his coat pocket, kisses him and leaves. Then Larry comes over to ask what happened. Nick reaches into the pocket and sees that he now has enough money to get to Oxford, so hugs Larry and says, "I don't believe it!" Actually a touching moment, lol. Then the scene cuts to England.

Sounds like a pretty good movie, even if people say it's a little dull. So, is it on VHS or DVD?
Yeah, funny thing about those two clips you linked to that I pegged as my favorites. Although I do love most if not all of Richard's characters: Scooter, Sweetoms, and especially Beaker, not ever seeing Forgetful Jones until I came to this thread, and having limited knowlege of Gladys, although I don't know how before, I am a slightly bigger fan of both Luis and Snuffy than either of Richard's two characters. And after seeing Alice for the first time how could I not just love her?
:incert cute smiley here:
You know Erin, I've heard tell of your alder alergy, and I dare say I'm a little disappointed. You know alders were once said to have some significant super-natural powers, so the least they could be is hypo-alergenic, right?

Oh, don't you know it. It's no fun having blocked-up sinuses on a seven-hour transatlantic flight...but on the other hand, they say that alder wood is excellent for making guitars, so I guess the tree does have a few saving graces.

I remember seeing Snuffy and Alice on Sesame Street when I was a little girl, but like I said, it's been a very long time since I last watched.

Man, Rob Lowe's character sounds like he's a real sponge to me...but I find it a tad amusing that he's trying desperately to get close to a lord's daughter, while the man who plays Nick's co-worker has actually met and mingled with the highest-ranking members of the British royal family.

Lol, yeah I was never a Rob Lowe person; too obviously good looking, if that makes any sense! But he was good in the movie, which is on VHS, I don't think they've put it out on DVD.

Very true, Hollywood can be quite backwards that way sometimes, heh.

Oh and I misinterpreted that scene in the parking lot, lol. The divorcee actually left the keys to her car in Nick's jacket, the hot Italian car he liked. Well, that's what happens when you only watch part of a film, lol.

Ugh, yeah sinus problems at high altitude don't sound fun. I have a hard enough time with sinuses here on the ground!

::shivers:: Wow, the world is clearly coming to an end. I saw a brief clip of Muppet From Space last night and actually laughed at loud!

I doubt this will make me watch the whole movie again, but it was a relief to get that moment of pleasure.

I've only seen the last part of Muppets from Space - the big scene on the beach - but I remember thinking, "It's just not the same."

By the way - I had a Muppet-related dream a few nights ago. I think part of it involved several of the characters from TMS and SS going down into Fraggle Rock on some rescue mission - and the lineup included Big Bird; Lord only knows how he was able to fit down the Fraggle hole.
Anyway, it all ends up with a large group of Muppets and Muppet performers sitting around a campfire in the woods at night, having a group sing-along.
At one point, Richard started singing "Paper Moon" in his Wayne voice, and everyone else joined in on the second verse.
It was a chilly night, probably in late October or early November, for I remember that everyone, both Muppets and humans, had on sweaters and sweatshirts and heavy jackets. Richard, as I recall, was wearing a dark bluish-gray sweatshirt (for some reason it said 'Atlantic' across the front) and a pair of jeans.

Yeah, that's my thought too. The mood just isn't there.

Big rescue mission and sing a long at the end around a fire...yup sounds like a Muppet adventure to me! Lol Yeah I think we'd all like to hear that second verse of "Paper Moon." Hehe

:boo: I think we'd all like to hear the second verse to any of the songs Waine and Wanda sing!
 No we wouldn't!
Both: Doohoho!

Sorry, just couldn't resist. Erin, do you remember any more of that dream? Sounds fun; sounds like a fanfic!

Hmmm, MFS might have been of the slightly more modern persuasion, but I liked it. Then again, I'm a littlebias, 'cause I just adore Gonzo. Eh, I say the magic of the muppets is always there in some way or other; it's just that sometimes we might have to look a bit harder for it. Even VMC, which I didn't like much, had it's moments.

Yeah, I've only seen the end of Muppet's From Space, too. It was pretty good, but didn't feel the same. But I liked it okay.:smirk:

Yeah there's always a couple nice moments in the new projects, which is good. I thought some of VMC was touching, like when Kermit realizes he shouldn't have wished we'd never been born. I just can't watch them for very long though, they bring my mood down. And Gonzo is one of my favorites too, but it's just not the same.

But of course, in this difficult situations, we should learn to express our emotions...

(I think I liked "Happy" best, lol. Though kinda odd how "Afraid" sounded like a certain "Meep-er"!)
