"You're Alive..." I don't think I've ever heard that one. When I was a little kid, I only remember learning how to distinguish natural things from man-made things.

Just checking in; I've been away from the computer for a bit because of other matters...like coming down with a cold just as I come home on fall break. Injustice!

Aw, lol. Yeah I guess movies like Little Shop gave Venus Fly Traps a bad name! They're not nearly as flashy in real life.

That's right! I havn't watched The Little Shop of Horrors for yonks but when i was little I watched it with my family (Father Dearest convinced me cause he told me Frank Oz was the director and I thought it would be all muppety) and it scared me sooo much, even if it was a musical!

A little off topic, but yeah that musical is scary. Though it does have an important message about not allowing evil to grow. Seymour starts out by giving the plant his own blood. Then he just keeps giving in to the plant and starts feeding it other people! And he doesn't stop because he's afraid Audrey won't love him anymore. In the end, the Earth is doomed (in the play, not the movie) because Seymour was too weak to say no.

*The movie's ending was changed because test audiences wanted a happy ending. Oh please!

I'll try, heralde. It's nothing that a few decongestants and some tissues and cough drops can't fix (or at least make more bearable). But it is annoying that it had to hit during my days off. God has a sense of humor, and so do cold germs.

We kept a few Venus fly traps when I was a kid, but none of them lived long. Guess the flies around here didn't have enough nitrogen in them. The last time I actually handled a VFT was in my biology lab last semester. Had to do with some assignment on stimulus-response in certain plant species.

Yeah, the worst thing is being sick when it's your day off. What a waste! Still, it's better that you don't miss anything important.

I have a cold, too. It's that time of the year and everyone's got it! Only a week ago my whole family had it but me, and I was trying my best to avoid it, but nooo! I've had it for 'bout four days! My hearing's all skewiff and I've been coughing and sneezing all over the place! (But of coarse I'm trying to keep it to myself, I don't want my family to have it again).

But I have missed out on two days of school! (Hope I don't miss out on too much, though) But I've been having chicken broth for breakfast, lunch and tea. it's meant to be good for you when you've got a cold.

Feel better too, Kiki! Oh, it's so hard to avoid getting sick when it's happening in your family. And the limited diet when you're sick is not fun. Though trying to eat normal is impossible!
