We went to Europe (LOTS of fun) for a week last May, and the weather varied. While we were in London, the weather varied from nice and sunny to overcast and a bit chilly. When we took the train up to York for a day, it was cold and rainy. Nearly drowned.
We spent a day in Paris before coming home to the U.S., and the day began as warm (a bit muggy) and partly cloudy...and then at night while we were having dinner in the Eiffel Tower restaurant, the clouds opened up like you wouldn't believe. Thunder, lightning, the whole bit...but it didn't deter all the soccer hooligans who were in town for the European Cup semi-finals.
Wow that's great, MN! :excited: (Er, except the bit where you said you nearly drowned.) Boy..! I'm soo jealous! Europe? London? Sounds like the weather has a tendancy to change a bit, eh? But it sounds alot of fun you lucklucky thing!

Yeah that sounds like a great trip, MN! I really want to see the rest of the world at some point. Although, I'd also like to see the rest of my own country for that matter! lol

(laughs) I mean the drowning part in jest. No one was in any danger. It's just that we got a little soaked, despite our having umbrellas. Once the clouds really opened up, we decided to cut our sightseeing short, duck into a tea room for some tea and scones and then catch an earlier train back to London.

It was a lot of fun; we're still raving over it months later. It was everyone's first time overseas. I'd wanted to go to England since I was a little kid, and we finally got to. And we're already planning on going back next year.

It does rain a lot in the UK area. But that's why it's always so green there!

Oddest thing: there were virtually no trees in Ireland. Of course, they'd been destroyed many ages ago. But there were several palm trees! I'm not kidding, palm trees. I guess they were transplanted there. I admit I always wanted to see a real palm tree. But I never picture seeing one in Ireland!

You know, I did read somewhere that palm trees can grow in some parts of Ireland. It has to do with certain conditions created by wind and sea currents.

Yes, it did rain on us a bit. But on the morning we flew into Gatwick, it was a nice sunny day, blue sky and all. My mom kept commenting how green London was, compared to most U.S. cities. They do have some really pretty parks over there.

Those are great, Kiki. I really liked the alligator talking to his mother lol!

Sure go for it, he might respond!
Thank you!! Yeah, I make up alot of quirky unusual characters. My mum loves that one, too. She doesn't particually love the lil' puppy with the axe, though.
