CHAPTER 6
When Marty and Kendra arrived back at their office they found not only Snowthy but Sgt Floyd as well. She had come to help them with a bit of housework like she did once a week and she was sweeping the floors. She was so happy to see Marty she dropped the broom and ran to him. Marty and Sargey hugged each other and then they settled down as Snowthy reported how his interview with Bill in prison went.
"He is very devastated. He told the police firmly that he knows nothing when they questioned him as to the whereabouts of the Kondrick couple's belongings."
Sarge resumed her sweeping while Kendra asked, "Is there anybody who can vouch for where he was the night of the robbery?"
"He doesn't have a very strong case for himself unfortunately. He did have a 15 minute phone chat with Kermit the Frog that night. Kermit has confirmed this, however that was very early between half past 6 and 7pm. Mr and Mrs Kondrick were settling down to eat at 5 minutes to 8 when they were plundered. He could still have conveniently driven out to their home after hanging up the phone to perpetrate the deed."
Marty took the card out of his pocket and explained what Ziffel had told them. They knew they could trust Sarge to say nothing. So while she carried on working Marty sat down and dialled the phone number to contact Agent Laser.
Would she be able to help them solve this mystery?
