I adored your last chapter, Marty! And I very much look forward to when you can update! :excited: I can't wait to see what comes next. But do take your time. I really hope you can work everything else in your life out first... that is always most important.

chapter 11

And so Marty, Snowthy and Sarge went to the police station to see Bill and speak to the police about taking him into their custody on bail. Meanwhile Kendra took Agents Laser and Pork back to their offices to wait for them.
Patrolman Fozzie Bear was at the desk when Marty and his friends arrived. He said "The bail will be $200 returnable when Bill comes back for the date of his trial. I'm glad you are trying to help him because I really find it so difficult to believe that he could do such a terrible thing."
Sargent Link Hogthrob entered from the cafe with a cup of coffee and a jelly doughnut in his hand while Patrol Bear was speaking. "I agree." He took a bite of his doughnut and went on,"When I've talked to him he seems so genuinely confused and upset. He doesn't come across as guilty in his mannerisms, unless he's putting on an elaborate mask. But I always figured him for an honest muppet when I saw him perform his bubble act on Muppets Tonight."

Snowthy paid Patrol Bear the $200 and Link led the Detectives to Bill's cell.
"You've been bailed out Bill." He announced as he unlocked the door and swung it open. "These people are taking you into their care."
Bill had been sitting on his bunk dejectedly. When he heard the news he looked up tremblingly and stammered "Is-is it really true?"
"It is Bill." Marty assured him. "We still have yet to find evidence to clear your name, but we want you staying with us at our office while we work on it."
Tears of gratitude poured down Bill's cheeks as he slowly stood up and Sarge ran up to hug him. As she squeezed him some bubbles shot out of his head and Marty and Snowthy admired how beautiful they looked. Link was moved and said he and Patrol Bear wished Bill and the Detectives the very best of luck.
After Bill had changed out of prison clothes into his own suit they all prepared to leave when suddenly the phone rang at the desk and Patrol Bear answered it. "Oh no!" he cried in such a distraught tone of voice that everybody stopped short of exiting the door. When he finished his anxious phone call he hung up and Marty asked him what had happened.
"It seems that Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker have disappeared. Ernie and Bert went to call on Muppet Labs 35 minutes ago because they hadn't heard any word back from them for three days. All the messages they left on their answering machine went ignored. So they decided to go see them personally. And they found the Labs front door unlocked and the place torn apart. It looked like there had been a struggle and the scientists were nowhere to be found."
Marty, Snowthy, Sarge and Bill were horrified. "That's dreadful" Sarge cried.
"Oh dear me." Bill hung his head.
Marty asked Snowthy and Sarge to take Bill to the office while he took a slight detour to visit Ernie and Bert at their apartment at 123 Sesame Street. Could there be a connection?

chapter 12

When Marty arrived at the door of their apartment he knocked on the door and waited a few moments until Bert answered it.
"Are you with the police?" Bert asked.
"No. I'm a private detective." Marty explained. "I heard about the disappearance of Bunsen and Beaker and I wondered offchance if it may be somehow related to another case I'm working on with my partners. May I come in for a moment?"
Bert hesitated briefly before replying "Is it okay if we talk out here in the hallway instead? Poor Ernie is so shook up after we made the discovery and already talking to the police earlier that he is in our bedroom lying down. I don't want to upset him further."
Marty said he understood and they closed the door and quietly talked together. There didn't seem to be much to inter-relate the events by what Bert had to say. Until he asked why Bert and Ernie had been keeping in touch with Muppet Labs.
Bert said "Dr. Honeydew had been working upon a special invention that Ernie had wanted to try out for a modest fee. It was designed to create really huge bubbles for fun and games in the shower or the tubby. They were supposed to be so huge as to fill up your bathroom area. Ernie thought that was such a wonderful idea. He loves bubble baths and so being priveliged to test it for Muppet Labs was exciting to him. And now he's so devastated."
Marty was captivated immediately. A Muppet Labs Bubble-making invention for the bathroom. Could that have been used to disable the Kondrick couple at their dining room table?
Thanking Bert he quietly departed to meet everyone else at the office. Things were beginning to really heat up.

More to come soon.
