Am I the only one who finds it somewhat unethical that fans out there do commissioned artwork of copyrighted characters they don't own?

I mean, if it’s at least in their own style, I think it’s understandable.

Just curious to know if I’m the only one (on this forum) who feels like the virus contributing everything going on in this world has completely destroyed their mental health in some way or another?

Well, not completely destroyed....but the pandemic certainly hasn't made my mental health any better than it was before. That being said, I do have higher hopes for this upcoming year. Hopefully by summer 2021 (six months from now) things will be more normal than they are now. By that I mean we can travel abroad, not wear masks, be less than six feet apart from others, etc. Vaccines are being developed, tested, and approved. And reportedly, the Broadway musical Hamilton may be reopening next summer....on July 4!

I feel that we're on the right path. Remember that you're not alone. We're ALL going through some tough times, but we're here with you.

Destroyed is a bit of an exaggeration on my part, but yeah, it’s definitely ****** with it to a bad area.

sometimes i think im the only person that it hasn't affected emotionally

you cant live afraid of a disease that isnt going to go away. and quite frankly, the virus has been good for me. Thanks to it, i was able to fend off student loans for that much longer, i was actually able to get a job teaching so easily because the virus scared off many teachers from teaching so schools are desperate to hire, and in an indirect way, i was able to get a great new computer because the virus forced me to wait to buy one, instead of the one i was going to settle for, and through waiting, i had more money, and was able to afford a much better one.

I’m not saying I’m afraid of the virus. I mean sure, I’m scared of getting it, but I’m not afraid to go outside with a mask on.

What I was saying is, the virus has messed up my mental health a bit in the fact that it’s raised my depression with not being able to see friends, certain places I loved going to now are off limits or require appointments, and I just miss being able to give or receive hugs. 😕 this isolation didn’t exactly help with the fact that I was also dealing with the stress of having to sell my old house and transition into my new apartment.

Thanks to the virus I was able to really put in ideas and concepts into an animated project that I want to pitch to Sesame Workshop. So there's something that was positive about the virus.

I mean, if it is one thing I can thank this virus for, it’s showing me just how stupid and immature people are when it comes to masks and places being shut down.

I think it only becomes a problem when people try to make money off it.
Way back when, Bill Watterson won an injunction when he saw bootleg bumper stickers of Calvin peeing on a wall.

I admire Wattersin’s attitude. He could’ve made a fortune licensing Calvin and Hobbes like Peanuts or Garfield.Outside of his daily strip his only other tie-ins were his books.

He also lamented how his Sunday color strips were shrunk down by the newspapers.
