*Phone rings... Just a minute, I'll be back in a little while. Ann, you're in charge.

*Picks up phone. Oh hi Bo, was just... What? Viq ran away? Hmmm, not sure where he might be then.
What's that? Sorry, but you'd have to talk to Christy about that. Wouldn't want to get in between Sis and her daughter, even if I am magically trained. Sorry I couldn't help you with that. But if you need Jack returned to his adult form... Well, just stay in touch.

<Ann, Kelly, and Tabby are sitting, looking at a telephone>

Tabby: That's funny... it stopped ringing... do you think maybe it broke?... <steps closer to the phone and examines it>

Ann: No, someone picked it up. Or the person calling hung up.

Kelly: How could someone have picked it up? It hasn't moved at all...

Ann: Well, there's more than one phone.

Kelly: Oh...

Tabby: <knocks receiver off the cradle and tries to listen>

Ann: TABBY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?

Tabby: I'm just trying to figure out why it stopped ringing... <puts ear on the part you're supposed to talk into> ...I don't hear anything from this end, maybe the other...

Ann: Tabby, you're not supposed to do that! You put that phone back right now!

Tabby: What if I don't?

Ann: What if you don't what?

Kelly: Uh oh... please don't argue...

Tabby: <ignores Kelly> What if I don't put the phone back?

Ann: Then... Then um... you'll get in trouble!

Tabby: Oh, yeah?

Ann: Yeah!

Tabby: And then what will happen?

Kelly: Hey, um, anyone want to play tag?

Tabby: Ann, are you going to answer me? What will happen if I get in trouble?

Tabby: Well, then there's only one way to find out! <puts ear to the part you're supposed to listen from>

Ann: Tabbytha Cole, put that phone back! NOW!

*Hangs up telephone and starts back to reading room.
Kelly? What's the matter dear? Oh, OK... Come on, let's get back there before the fireworks start.
*Both get back in time to avert the fight. Now, now... Tabby, just put that receiver down and come sit over here. Ann, calm down, it's all fright now. We'll have to talk about this later... But for now, just know that if you hear someone talking on the telephone and it's not for you, just put the receiver back down.

OK, let's get back to this exciting little story about the Summer show at the theater.
