Two weeks was my limit.
I was still downing coffee every chance I got, but after two weeks I just got sick of the sight of McDonald’s. It put me off for the better part of a year.

That’s how you learn in life. You do something for a while, and you see it’s not working out too good, you regroup and shift gears.

I still drink coffee a few times a week, but in the last few years I switched to tea. I’m not quite as wired as I used to be.

So my mom and I went out to lunch at Not your Average Joe’s (she’ll be helping me with apartment searching this week). I got a Buffalo chicken pizza with blue cheese and a chocolate mousse cake for dessert that I saved for later.

They have been sitting in my stomach. All. Day.

Alright, I finally got to try Ritz Bitz cheese crackers for the first time in such a long time (taking a bite of these things I now actually very much remember the flavor).

Wow…. Um….. these were pretty disappointing. Not gonna lie. The cheese might as well not even be there. 😕

Yeah, they really don't seem as flavorful as I remember them being as a kid either.

Now, if you look down the aisle where those packs of sandwich cracker snacks are, and you try the Ritz cheese sandwich crackers (not the boxes of Ritz Bitz), those are a little more satisfying, flavor-wise.

When I feel like that, hot tea helps. If it’s worse than that, Pepto Bismol or Tums.

Pastrami on rye. Can’t be beat.
A little brown mustard is all you need.
Some of the best things are so simple.

Meh, I'm not big into many of the salted cured meats. Pastrami? Salami? No thanks. I'm not even a fan of bologna honestly.

Your loss, to each his own. I don’t get pastrami often because it is pretty expensive. But a few times a year, it’s wonderful.

Just like corned beef, pastrami started out as brisket.
If you came up here, you’d probably steer clear of Katz’s Deli (shown in the movie “When Harry Met Sally”. The table where Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan made out has it’s own plaque)
They have people lined up out the door for their pastrami. Nothing screams “New York Jewish Deli” like pastrami and a chocolate egg cream.
