well first off, it hasnt broke out yet, and second, there is nothing wrong with talking about important stuff like this, as long as everyone can respect eachoters opinions. And its something that should be applied to every thread. Respect. So far, everyone has been good and respected eachoter. If you cant handle others opinions in life, then where would you be? (and I know your worried Snowie, and I love you for careing so much, but I really think its going well)
He wants a fight to break out...I told you someone would say it eventually didnt I?

No, Snowth did NOT say he wanted a fight to break out. He said a fight is about to break out. Let's not confuse things, okay.

and why would someone randomly say that, in a thread which had nothing but honest calm discussion in it?

That's typical of him BEAR, he likes to make it seem like I'm the one who likes to start the arguments.

Someone should get this back on topic...as someone else is trying to start an argument again..

The guy who said its not unusual for people 14/15 yrs old round where he lives to be drinking I would agree with. It's pretty much the same around here. Most people I know started around 16rs old. They were sensible with it though..and it is legal anyway.

You're starting to make it sound like every 14-16 year old that drinks where you live is sensible about it... that can't possibly be true.

I don't see the point of kids drinking anyway. Where is it going to get them? Are they going to become popular all of a sudden now that they're drinking?

What I also found funny is that there are people who go to church that drink. They may not drink on a regular bases but they still drink. Wouldn't drinking cancel out what church is about, which is not to sin, which would be drinking.

*Note: I don't know that much about church either.*
Actual consumption of alcohol isn't a sin for christians. However, abusing alcohol isn't respecting your body... And since we are made in God's image, that is not a very nice thing to do.

In other religions there are suggestions about drinking. In buddhism, one of the precepts is that you shouldn't really do anything that makes your body and mind unsound.Which includes alcohol and drug abuse, etc. That rule is neat though because it could include hearing negative ideas like on TV or from people.

My 2 cents:

Why are there kids drinking underage? Why are there kids, at the age of 15, smoking marijuana? Why do parents let their kids run out in the streets, dress like "gangstas" and go cause trouble, act up, harrass others? Because in this modern day society, it's "acceptable". It's acceptable socially to do these things but legally, none of it is, and for the most part I think social fashions and philosophies overshadow the laws and the legal behaviors one is supposed to adhere to, thus they don't get in trouble. I mean, at my campus, on one side of the road everyone is smoking and drinking and on the other side, a cop waits for one of those kids to walk over so he can fine them. It's just all so stupid and ludricrous. The media is making all this crap socially acceptable so therefore it affects everybody. A personal anecdote: My friend told me he was walking with his friends down a road when suddenly a policeman came up and said they were caught with illegal posession of marijuana, according to some photo someone took and turned in. Now, of course, they never ever would even think of doing drugs so they eventually set the policeman straight but still it is an example of what I am trying to point out here: Media affects society which affects everyone, even people who aren't brainwashed by the rappers and the trampy singers as I pointed out in the anecdote.
