Maybe, but saying that to those people isnt going to help them. It's just the way it is.

Bear and messyplace, I refer to that as "liquid courage".

There's nothing wrong with drinking socially. Dinner, dancing, whatever. It's when you do it just to drink and you party all the time. And I know people like this and it's not good for them and they won't learn until they make themselves very sick. :/

"liquid courage" huh? That's a good way to put it.

Yeah a few people refer to it as things like that. I don't see anything wrong with it really.

There's nothing wrong with social drinking every now and then. It's just that you can't control yourself the way you normally do. So there is a risk that you could hurt yourself, or more likely, other people. Even if you don't mean to, it's more likely to happen. And people should be, and often are, held responsible.

And it's true that having a drink can losen you up at parties, which can be good. But nothing beats confidence you gain on your own. Now that is attractive.

A fight's bond to break out again.

well first off, it hasnt broke out yet, and second, there is nothing wrong with talking about important stuff like this, as long as everyone can respect eachoters opinions. And its something that should be applied to every thread. Respect. So far, everyone has been good and respected eachoter. If you cant handle others opinions in life, then where would you be? (and I know your worried Snowie, and I love you for careing so much, but I really think its going well)

I don't see the point of kids drinking anyway. Where is it going to get them? Are they going to become popular all of a sudden now that they're drinking?

What I also found funny is that there are people who go to church that drink. They may not drink on a regular bases but they still drink. Wouldn't drinking cancel out what church is about, which is not to sin, which would be drinking.

*Note: I don't know that much about church either.*

It depends on the Church, some feel there is no conflict. Just drinking is not wrong. (Jesus did drink Wine after all). It's when it becomes an addiction and a preoccupation, or you hurt people with your behavior, that there's a problem.
