You know, this perfectly shows how a lot of people when they were kids only watched Sesame Street for entertainment and learned absolutely nothing from it:

EDIT: Oops, didn’t realize the reactions weren’t showing, but yeah, surprise surprise, tons of angry reactions.
At least on this specific post, I only see positive comments, but I've seen a fair share of backlash over this elsewhere. If Facebook were around in 1970, outraged parents would be complaining that there are too many minorities on Sesame Street and that they're trying to "erase white people" or whatever nonsense they come up with.

Yeeeeeeaaaaaaah….. Sesame Street really is one of the first shows to have a diverse cast, and the fact that it happened in the first place is a miracle.

People were outraged at Sesame Street in 1970. In Mississippi, they didn’t take too kindly to “N-bombs and hippies” being shown on public tv.

Times have changed. As in the case with Between the Lions, it got too expensive to produce in New York anymore.
In Mississippi, union fees were so much cheaper, it made economic sense to move production down there.

Well, as the 70s wore on, the hippie trappings of Woodstock gave way to Disco, bad perms, leisure suits, and all that crap.

Right now there’s something happening worth noting.
There’s an uprising in Cuba. After 60 years of dictatorship people are rising up and demanding freedom And to demonstrate they want freedom, protesters are waving American flags.
Last year when China invaded Hong Kong, people were doing the same thing.
Even people in Iran (once one of our biggest enemies) are waving American flags. Why? Because in spite of our flaws, people around the world want what we have here, and will sacrifice anything to come here.
Cuba is 90 miles from Florida. For decades, Cubans have come by boats, rafts, inner tubes to reach here. They want what we have in the worst way.
Sadly, over here there are those (and a few reading this right now) moaning about how Murka sucks.
People around the world want what we have, which many over here take for granted, don’t appreciate, or think this place is awful.

Then switch places with someone from Cuba or Hong Kong. If you don’t appreciate the freedoms you have here, someone else who lived under a dictator‘a regime will be grateful to take your place. If you think the grass is greener somewhere else, what’s stopping you from leaving?

Besides excuses.

Traitor Cruz ******** about Democrats fleeing Texas and Biden's response to the unrest in Cuba when he himself fled Texas to Cancun at a time when the people of his state actually needed him during an actual crisis. Republican double standards. 😒 🙄 🤦‍♂️

And democrat double standards as well. One Texas senator whining about the sacrifices they are making and giving up so much. The took a chartered jet to DC with a case of beer. Its not Washington crossing the Delaware

Exactly. A sacrifice is when you part with something near and dear to you.
Flying on a chartered jet, staying in a five star hotel, eating at five star restaurants, on the taxpayer’s dime...

where’s the sacrifice?
If they drove there themselves, put themselves up in a Motel 6, packed sandwiches for the trip, and paid out of their own pocket, then maybe you might have an argument.

Do you know what a sacrifice would be? Packing up , leaving your house, going to a foreign country and never coming back.
Having a mini vacation at the taxpayers expense is not exactly brave.

Since we’re talking about double standards, let’s shed some light on a democratic one.
For years, Trump was demonized for building a wall to stem the flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico and Points South.
But now you have Alejandro Majorcas saying if you come by boat from Cuba, we’re sending your a$$ right back.

You don’t see AOC in a white dress weeping on the shore at the plight of the Cubans.

Wanna know why? Miami has a strong Cuban population, many tend to vote Republican.
They share Republican values. They love this country and the freedoms we have, because they remember all too well the lack of freedom under Castro.
So because these people are patriotic and aren’t about to talk about how Murka sucks, Democrats have no use for them.

Under Trump, stemming the flow of Mexicans was racist, xenophobic, the whole nine.
Under Biden, stemming the flow of Cubans is totally legit.
